Where on Bnet do the Abysmal's hang?

by FoxBat_

This Mod owns ME soo bad :) Its so incredibly hard! Some of the mod is funny too, the stirges that circle you at an insane speed are great, and I love the rouge's infravision skill...

So, where on BNet do all the Abysmal players congregate? And what tag do you append to your name?

Not really one main place...

by Rickster

I know of a few places where a few hang out, and if you manage to reach level 30, there's usually a few in The Black Lodge (LVL 30+). I think more hang out there than any other one public place. :)

by Yaeshua~A+A

as people have said check the Black Lodge (l30+) & what I usually do is log on Bnet, type in Abysmal in game/password sections & attempt 2 join a current game or simply Abysmal game name and no pass.
I think the tag is [Abys].

Use a password

by

I usually use abys/abys or abysmal/abysmal. Make sure you use a password though, or people from norm diablo can come in and annoy you, and they don't always crash instantly...

Hey, this is excellent!

by

Exactly what I had in my mind few months ago! Due to my army service, I can't keep the channel open with my bot myself, but it would be great if somebody else would! What chat-program are you using? Hope it is at least Hades or Sub-Bot with their great OPs-holding propetities.
If you just have the time, please hold the channel open... it should attract more players in the channel and if you're using a bit more advanced bot, ppl can use it to contact others as well.

Great idea!

Basically, the same as Fireball :)

by

I used the same damage formula with Lightning Bolt as with Fireball, so basically it does the same as lvl 15 Fireball... Remember the -50% reduced damage with it in Abysmal though!
Also, there ain't splash damage involved with Lighnting Bolt as there is with Fireball, so it does a bit less damage than FB in all matters, but it's still a quite a nice spell against single non-immune or lightning resisted monsters :)

Arch-Weapons

Chill.

by Rickster

Hey, mine did the same.

I'm not complaining.
I think that they were too easy to get in V2.
The reason they morphed is because he changed their QLVL, or how hard they are to acquire. I had found many of the Arch-Weapons before V2+, but since V2+ I have found none. That's how I know "they" (he) changed the QLVL. :)

Also, I notice that he balanced the Arch-Weapons out more, which I like. I thought that they were too godlike, myself. But, now, since they're so hard to find, maybe not so. :)

I had found 15 Shamans, 4 Justifiers, 7 Judgemental Bows, 4 Juggernaut Plates... They all morphed. But, I'm getting back up there.

I'm not familiar with the bow. I have a suit of Juggernauts Plate, Nibelunges Ring or the Aegis Ring, all would be good for a fighter. I'm personally looking for any better bows and a good amulet. The bow I have is the something of the Zodiac it gives +200% or so damage. Can't remember the prefix.

Arch-Weapons and Wirt

Does anybody know the bonuses and abilites of the arch weapons for each class? I'm kind of curious to know. Also, what factirs determine what Wirt has for sale, I'm pretty sure difficulty setting and level, but are there others? And does he sell some items only at certain levels?

Arch Weapons

by Nadagast

Yeah I would like to ask...what are the uniques that are "truly superior" for each class? This is what it says :

Arch weapons: One truly superior unique weapon for each character class. Only Diablo is capable to drop them in Hell difficulty (Base items: Ancient Sword, Ancient Bow and Ancient Staff)

What are the stats on them? I am really curious. Thanks =)

Not worth the trouble

by Jerrisa-Abys

The Juggernaught Plate's stats can be found in the Dataabys file that came with the program, along with all the other item stats.
Here are the stats anyway:
AC 240, +20 dmg, +85 hp's, +8 dmg from monsters, Fast hit recovery, -100 mana.

In my opinion, it's a pretty shabby plate. You can get better from wirt. :)

Look at the stats again

by Jerrisa-abys

It would be a great plate except for the minus 100 mana and the +damage from enemies. It won't be great if you are fighting witches or other ranged attack monsters.

Mana? We dont need no stinking mana!

by

Jerissa! What would be the fun in it for us warriors if our opponents just stood still so we could club em to death? heheh Seriously though, Warriors max at magic at 20 pts so we dont have that much mana to work with anyway and I myself prefer to use any bonuses to "to hit %", AC,and resistance. Trying to manage such a minimal amount of mana is almost pointless. Besides, I'd love to find Juggy just for bragging rights alone (grins)

Okie Dokie

by Jerrisa-abys

I was just stating a personal preference in armor, Shad. :)
I still like to be able to stone a few monsters while I attack, especially the witches and on 15 and Amir on 16. I usually play a rogue but I have a lvl36 knight with about 200 mana. It sure helps me if I can stone a few witches and mages with out having to chase them down and wake the whole room. :) I do have a Juggernaught plate that I'm not using (just holding it for bragging rights). Let me know if you want to borrow it..I think the requirements to wear it is 127 str and 110 dex.

Stuff Dissapearing

by

For some reason that happens to me too, but it isn't just my armor. Sometimes it screws up like that and I lose some of my gear. Only way I've found to really stop it is to save your character to bobafett before you leave a game and load him back up when you start a new one. It's probably just some little thing I missed in the in the instructions. The game screws up I think if you play single player, so that might be it, but my stuff dissapears on multi too. Wish I could help ya, but I really can't. Maybe someone else will respond. Later, and good luck.

What a long strange trip it's been.

by Plaidapple

Well I think it is nearly official. I will never be able to freely roam hell/hell solo with my warrior. I have reached lvl 42 with PlaidAppleIIe and it still isn't possible to wander past 14. Even with justifier, juggernaut's, battleshield and 700 hp to boot, I will always be 3 quick hits or 5 little bloodstars from death. I could work on my mid level mage, but that isn't really the problem. I would like to thank you tommi, this game has fought off the DiabloII cravings long after regular Diablo ceased to help, but it was only temporary. Like any good junky, I need my next big fix. I am retiring as a serious Diablo player, having already found the holy grail of an emerald zodiac jewel, and will spend the rest of my days visiting diabloii.net, waiting and praying for the beta that never seems to come. I will see you all on the other side (DiabloII I mean, of course.) I think i will be a Barbarian first, although the Paladin and necromancer are fascinating as well, and of course the Amazon...*sigh*. Someday I suppose.

whatever,
PlaidApple

p.s. Anyone still playing v2? I have a spare rc I could part with, if there is any interest.

Well, I suppose I should respond to Plaid's message, as we use the same computer for our characters anyway. I am also pretty much done with Abysmal. It's been great; unlike his warrior, my 41 mage can tear through hell hell :-) But hey, his character has saved my ass from death several times. So Tommi, preparing Abysmal 2 for Diablo 2, right? I'll be wanting it, oh, around next summer or so.

Well... Considering that I designed it for item recovery runs for lvl 20-3x Warriors/Rogues, I'd think it's worth the keep in case you accidently die in a tough place. Having Stone Curse without need of mana and being capable of doing at least moderate damage is something which *I* would call useful :)

Just drop the staff to town in begin of every game to free up inventory space and if you would happen to die (which ain't all that rare in Abysmal Diablo as far as I've heard heheh), you can easily pick up the staff and TRY to get your revenge :)

I think there's still honor out there :)

by

Seriously, we're talking about Abysmal Diablo here... Your glaim applies perfectly to regular Diablo, but as far as I know and have noticed, there ain't luckily so many cheaters playing Abysmal Diablo. It seems to be just a little too difficult to install to them, and most trainers does not even work with it. And besides, I as one can even spot a unlegit trade in regular Diablo as well. Once you gain this one 'state of awarness' in Diablo, it becomes pretty much impossible for a cheater to glaim you something which ain't truth. You can spot most unlegit characters and items just by keeping your eyes open.

I don't say this forum is 100% guarantee, but I don't say this would be the most worse place to trade either. Just keep your eyes open (ask about where the item was found etc.) and you should do just fine.

DUPING does not require a Trainer.

It's almost impossible to say if an item is DUPED. Especially if the trader have found the original item.

So i wouldn't trade here unless i had played with the player alot.

Cheating on Abysmal

by

So far I've played with about 50 people on abysmal. To my knowledge, they were all legit. I don't think there are many people out there that dupe on abysmal. The whole purpose of abysmal is to give a greater challenge to experienced diablo players, and that's why people play it. So why would they dupe something? Would be kind of reduntant, but I guess there are plenty of redundant people out there. Anyway, I think the trading post idea thing is pretty kool.

DO NOT FORGET THE [TRADE:] TAG!

by

Hey all,

I was very pleased to find out that so many of you have found the forum already, although I still hasn't be able to upload the updates to the pages, but PLEASE, if you're using this forum to trade, add the [TRADE:] tag in front of the message title so that people who are using this to discuss about other things could easily skip the trading messages.

I know, I know, you haven't be able to read the posting guidelines yet, but I *do* explained this on the first message I posted in here :)

So, just please try to remember the [TRADE:] tag in front of the message title. Otherways it's great that you people are already using this!
