| ‘Sana maulit muli, maging sino ka man’

ISAH RAVES – Colleague Isah Red, not the easiest person to please, is raving about two ABS-CBN soaps, "Sana Maulit Muli" and "Maging Sino Ka Man." Isah likes, loves them for dealing with real people – real situations, real emotions. Enough of fantasy series, please.
When presscons are held at night, Isah sees to it that he’s home before the soaps begin, loathe to miss an exciting episode.
Well, a lot of viewers share Isah’s preference, judging from the high ratings of the two ABS-CBN shows.
GOOD ACTORS – Isah says that the acting of Fil-Australian Anne Curtis, who plays one of the four lead roles in "Maging Sino Ka Man," has improved tremendously. (Highspeed agrees. Ditto Nestor C.) He even compares Anne to a young Vilma Santos – in terms of beauty and promise. Isah concedes though that her speaking voice needs some "retuning."
Minus the accent, Fil-Am Sam Milby is a fine actor, Isah continues. He and Anne make a good partner. Isah says that Sam has the making of a Dindo Fernando – minus the American accent. "I don’t care maging sino man siya."
How about John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo?
"Malayo pa ang marara ting nila," Isah replies, citing the beautiful scenes in "Maging Sino Ka Man," especially one where JLC is seen running after Bea. "Ang galing-galing nila." (Nestor C remembers the scene and agrees wholeheartedly.)
Isah compares them to Eddie Rodriguez and Marlene Dauden. Remember Eddie and Marlene in those love triangles with Lolita Rodriguez in the ’60s and ’70s? |
