I am actually training with a 3D Maglite currently, since this is my given "instrument" while I work the door at the bar. I wouldn't suggest going out and becoming a bouncer at just any bar, though this one is a bit more upscale, with fewer fights. However, last night I threw [read: literally threw] someone out of the bar, opening the door with his head and everything. It was a gentle reminder that sometimes things can get ugly, even at nice bars, and using a Maglite can be an advantage.
