'11 SHO Tarus prototype. Twin turbo, "Ecoboost", 30+mpg,damn fast 4spd auto, AWD,paddle shifter, loaded for around 37K msrp. To be built in August.
This is the tip of the iceberg for Ford, a lot more is on the way. With the other two using government money to stay alive they may be limited on performance. Ford's plan is to hi performance everything from trucks to Mustangs with the "ecoboost" program. I'd tell you more but i'm sworn to secrecy.

Re: Cleveland engine plant to re-open

I don't believe the plant has really ever closed. There are actually 2 plants there. The original (Engine Plant #1) has most recently been used to produce Jaguar engines, but obviously isn't necessary anymore. I believe Engine Plant #2 was built sometime in the 80s and I'm not sure what it produces. There is a 3rd part (some sort of assembly maybe) to it in between the two, but I think I heard that it is slated for demo.

I work for a company that does facility design for several major auto manufacturers (as well as chemical plants and refineries) and Ford is one of our clients. Saw a piece of paper on my boss' desk with the blue oval and "CLEVELAND ENGINE PLANT" on it and a general layout of the site. Naturally, I started questioning what we were doing there, and that's all the info I got out of him for now.
