The motherboard in my Compaq Presario F730US has failed to proceed. I've never gutted a laptop before. How do you get one apart?

i just stripped an old Compaq, it's a 500mhz machine, if you need it... i have the mother w/CPU and fan, and 264 ram

unplug the connectors, just a handfull of little screws, some are slightly hidden under the memory card hold downs if you leave them open. nothing you can't handle. pretty much everything has to come out before the board though.

mine is assy 411701500005

i think you can get a generic mother in a chassis pretty cheap but i've heard that Compaq stuff is proprietary.
