I think that the best way is to put "low altitude" to the cruise path, whit a terminal "pop up".
But remember that also in this case is hard to obtain a right hit on the ground target, if the zone is protected by a strong GCI and SAM sites. Whit this situation is imperative to have a SEAD escort which arrive in zone before you, to neutalize same ground SAM site. Forgive my english, i'm italian.
