This is a known bug, and is SOMETIMES related to a corrupt mission file, but MOST of the the time, simply exiting the mission builder, exiting the sim, then restarting will fix the problem. Once the problem is 'fixed' (i.e. the map zooms correctly) I usually resave the mission, or sometimes the fade to black occurs when loading the mission to fly.
