I love the fact that "Frankenstein is written by a woman. When I was reading about Mary Shelley I was so amazed by her life. She had no formal education at all and her mother died only 4 days after giving birth to her! That's so sad. For some with no formal education she achieved a lot. She was very impressionable because of the fact that her father was a author and had many friends that came through their home having great discussion that got Mary Shelley thinking. When Shelley overheard a conersation bewteen Lord Byron and Percy about galvanism she created the idea of Frankenstein. Could you imagine what would happen if this young girl, of 19 years old at the time, was not nosey and didn't listen in on people's conversations? We wouldn't have one of the coolest monsters of all time. I'm kind of eager to get started on "Frankenstein" just because its written by a woman. I can't wait to compare Shelley's gothic writings compared to someone like Nathanial Hawthorne who I am a fan of! Hopefully it's good!
