i was at liberty bridge from july 68-aug 70 served as a wireman radio operater 0200 hrs 19mar69 came under fire mortars sappers came up gully i called the 'neck' by mess hall was heading to hooch at top of hill when i notice movement which was nva sappers with grenades heard noise the nva where poring thru i turned around and opened fire with my m-16 shot as many as i could until i was hit by a fragmention grenade which knocked me out woke up in beaufort south carolina naval hospital where i recevied my second purple heart after i healed up i volunterded to go back to liberty bridge where i stayed until aug 1970
