You know, it occurs to me, looking at this again, that no one is going to know what an A&R man is unless you spell it out specifically! So somewhere you'll have to include "Artists & Repetoire" ... which is what the term really means, in order for you listener to know what you're talking about. This actually works to your advantage though, as I can see this shady character of yours trying to impress some doe-eyed songwriter with a French word ... even if he doesn't know it's French himself!
So that being said, you might have to revisit the opening a second time, let your listener know that they're getting "inside" information ... and then I think it should play out nicely.
