NSAI anyone?

Hi Keith,

Yes, I have been a member of NSAI since 1984. It's well worth the effort to join, either as a professinal member or associate member. They offer several programs, seminars and opportunities that are not otherwise available anywhere else, at lower costs. They have a monthly critique session in Nashville, and even if you can't attend, you can submit a work tape or demo along with a lyric sheet, and you will get feedback in a couple of weeks; They also offer seminars around the country. One of the first I attended was in the spring of 1985, held at Kentucky Lake State Resort, and the instructor was Kix Brooks, who was then just a songwriter. Now, half of Brooks and Dunn. Also, if you're in Nashville and are a member, just stopping by the offices on Music Row, you're treated like part of the family. You never know who you will meet there. They also will let you use their office address as your Nashville base while you're in town. You can get computer access, demo copying, use of typewriters and telephones, etc....
My experience has been totally positive. I would recommend this association to anyone with hopes and aspirations of being a professional songwriter.
