Strongest would be callin' this Former Love "An Idiot"...even if he WAS One...you gotta treat Spurned Lovers with DIGNITY IF You expet to Keep 'Em as Friends, as the Bulk of this Lyric suggests.
There's also a Veneer of "Shallowness"...this Gal just MIGHT go to the Prom with him, but she's gonna dump him "Soon After" & head off to College with a Clean Slate...
NOT the sort of "Romantic Ending" the Unlucky Guy (And 95% of The Audience) is Hoping MIGHT Occur in The Last Reel of your 3-Minute Movie!
So, when you rewrite this, be a skosh Less "Blunt" & give us all HOPE that this scenario CAN turn out SOMEHOW a Little Better/Happier for the BOTH of Them...
