This lyric uses paralysis as a metaphor. How the girl hurt him so even though he doesn't want to be with this girl, he doesn't want to be with anyone else. I'm pleased that you found the chair to be a wheel chair. Very good. That's what I try to do is to go around the subject without mentioning what it's really about, but still uses images that signify that topic.
