The execution leaves a lot to be desired. See below:
V1
When God, first came into your life
Taking you like His wife,(This doesn't sound right)
You were still a little feist- (What's "feist"?)
Do you mean "feisty"?
When He, lavished you with love
You became born from above,
His Spirit came like a dove,
Remember who you are in Christ!
V2
When they, call you filthy names
Exclude you from kid's games,
Doing you harm in His eyes-
When they, break the golden rule
Bullying you after school
They deem you as a fool,
Remember who you are in Christ!
C
Remember who you are in Christ!/keep your hopes on ice,(Why "ice'? maybe on "high"?)
Thought the world hates you/God has a sparkling view,
Remember who you are in Christ!/offer a right sacrifice,
live by faith and smile/walk as the King's child,
Remember who you are in Christ!
V3
When you, become more mature
Sharing His divine nature,
They'll shoot your heart with lies--
If they, throw you into a fog
Kicked out of their synagogue,
Because you are a heir of God,
Remember who you are in Christ!
Chorus
V4
We are, like diamonds in the rough
Even though we remain uncut,
We hold treasures in jars comprised,("comprised"? do you mean "Compromised'?)
But know, when Jesus reappears
He will make what's hidden clear,
You will reign with Him, my dear,("My dear" doesn't relate to any of the above references, as to the sex of the listener.)
Remember who you are in Christ!
Chorus
Michael: This is somewhat of a negative song, deprecating the listener. The message"remember who you are etc." is okay, but terms like "filthy names" and "more mature" put the listener down. You're probably addressing a child in this, so the "wife" reference in the first verse is mis-stated.
Just my opinion...Bless you. Glen.
