Been thinking of doing a fishing/courting lyric myself. I see couples out along the piers in the evenings here in Honolulu mixing these activities from time to time. Not quite to the extent suggested in your lyric, however.
These are definately "guy songs". Not sure we'll catch a lady singing one, but can celebrate how they affect us when they wish.
Here's my first two lines of my own still unwritten version. It's got a little bit different flavor, but covers similar territory.
"She loves to go fishing with him late at night
When the moon hangs low, and the fish don't bite."
