Trying to find anyone who knew Tom Koob from Wayzata, Minnesota.
Tom was killed on 3-13-1969 in Vietnam. He was assigned to 2nd Plt, Alpha Comp,3/21 infantry.
I was his next door neighbor. Especially looking for pictures of Tom and/or his unit.
I did hear from Bob Goff who was in the same unit as Tom.
Hello!
I'm trying to help my Dad find his friends from Vietnam.
Did anyone here know Sgt. Dan Connolly? He was a scout with the 1/5 Marines, HS company, at An Hoa/Arizona Valley 1968-1970.
He's been searching for his friends that he's lost contact with-
He had "Kansas" written on his helmet, and would have been 18-19 years old. I know he was good friends with Ron Rowsey (who sadly didn't make it home) and Charlie Brown
but those are the only names I know.
If you knew Dan Connolly,
You can email me, or my Dad, at derbygis@hotmail.com
hello,

Hello!
My name is Leah Turner, and I am a freshman enrolled in Preston Junior High School in Fort Collins, Colorado. Every year my history teacher, Mr. DeVries, has us interview World War II, Vietnam, and/or Korean war veterans. We then post these interviews onto a site that has over 700 interviews from previous veterans. It is done to commemmorate those who fought for this country during those times. If you are a veteran that fought in one of these three wars and want to share your story so it shall be remembered, please reply to this or email me at Luv2Ski2290@hotmail.com. In a couple of weeks my teacher will let us interview each of the veterans that have volunteered, so I will send you a copy of the interview when that time comes. Thank you for helping me out. I want to help fulfill a successful database of the fascinating war stories and views of those veterans with the rest of the world.
My cousin, SMSGT Stanley E. Crawford (who is now deceased) was stationed with the 408 MMS and the 8 TFW at Ubon, Thailand during 1968. According to his service record he held the position of Munitions Supervisor in January 1968 and then was NCOIC Material Control in February 1968. He had also done a previous tour at Ubon in 1965/66 as a Munitions Specialist. My cousin Stanley began his military service with the United States Air Force in 1948 and retired in 1970.
I am trying to locate anyone who may have known and served with SMSGT Stanley E. Crawford at Ubon, Thailand. If you did, would you be able to share any of your memories (or a photo) in regards to SMSGT Crawford? If you didn't know SMSGT Crawford, would you know of someone who may have served with him during this time frame from your circle of friends? I am trying to do some personal research on my cousin's military service. You can get in touch with at my email address - crawfam@sympatico.ca or my mailing address which is: -

My Canadian born relative SSG Melvin James Wright served in Vietnam from November 1969 to the end of June 1972. He spent some of this time with the 3'rd Bgde of the 1'st Cav. (Prior to volunteering for Vietnam in 1969, he spent time in the Panama Canal Zone. He was also with the 557th Quartermaster Company - Air Delivery in Maintz, Germany from around 1966 - 1968). He was then assigned to Special Forces Thailand in July 1972. Melvin was killed in a sports parachute accident near Lop Buri, Thailand on October 13, 1973 as he drowned in a river/pond. I am also assuming that the “near Lop Buri” would have been the Pawai Airfield. According to Melvin’s military record his last MOS at the time of his death was Section Chief or Senior Rigger for the 1'st Special Forces of the 46th Special Forces Company Thailand. MSG Harry D. Brown was the Special Escort for returning Melvin’s remains back to Danville, Quebec, Canada for burial - Melvin’s home town.
Melvin was involved in the following Vietnam War Campaigns....Vietnam Winter-Spring, Sanctuary Campaign, Vietnam Counter Offensive. Melvin won various medals while serving in Vietnam including the Bronze Star, Air Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon w/Device.
The following is a quote from a letter I received recently (January 20, 2003) from Melvin’s Senior Commanding Officer, Retired LT. Col. Radtke....”You can rest assured that Melvin was highly thought of by his peers and the command as a whole. We were fortunate to receive the very best the Army had to offer in their personal pipeline of replacements from both Vietnam and the United States.”
“I considered myself fortunate to have commanded US Army Special Forces Thailand (USASFT). I was proud of all our troops as I was proud to have served as Melvin’s commander”

Just Wondering if there were snipers in vietnam and how did you operate? What I mean by this is what was your daily routine and such for changing positions, and how you hide yourself? What Standard gear did you have to carry?
Any information on vietnam snipers would be greatly appreciated thank you
