I used to by Lenkite by the case in the 70's. It was sold by the inventor direct to auto and motorcycle racers. I got mine from a friend who owned a Ziebart Rustproffing shop and rebuilt cars and motorcycles.. It was not available for direct sale to consumers.
It cam in little pint cans with a bottlecap that needed a bottle opener. It was a Black and Yellow can, as I remember it.
The Inventor took ill and died. The stuff was not sold since maybe the 80's. I often lamented the lost of it as it was an amazing metal on metal super lube. You had to add it each time you changed your oil, and you added it to the gas every so often. Also to the trans and differential fluid/oil. This was out long before Slick 50.
I happened to notice ZMAX with the trademarked logo of Lenkite and bought it. It had a distinctive smell, just like the Lenkite I used to use. It comes with a bottle for the crank case and one for the gas tank, just as the original application was.
Just because it is not found on Google, doe snot mean it never existed. Lenkite was a small company, from what I knew, only found in Chicago aera, or perhaps only in racing circles.
But I am a living witness who used it. How ZMAX implements it, I cannot say. I am now using it on my '98 Honda Civic, which gets 39.6 MPG city/highway.
