Restore is kind of like those additives you add to thicken the oil to the point where you hopefully get less blow-by the rings and some help sealing the valve guides that have worn. STP acts somewhat like this, too. I used to drive older (see worn-out) cars where this type of additive really helped slow the oil consumption. I really don't think it would help the mpg or power. 76 Nova, huh? Kind of a classic! Ever thought of restoring it and going with a newer small block with fuel injection? It could be done, but like all car projects can cost a bunch... |
