Response to Part 3 - "Bright"

As I have postd before, Emily's verbal skills are not her strong point - and yet her skills are above average for her age and beyond. So, when I look at her being bright I look at other things, IE she will be able to mimic just about anyone's tone of voice, she imitates people when they cry and will say, "WAAA, cry." and then chuckle. While we were at the doctor's office, emily noticed the pump hand soap dispenser and she said, "Fish" while pointing to it. The doctor noted that she wasn't differentiating between the ivy on the front and her image of a fish...but then I mentioned that just prior to coming to the office, we ahd been in a home where they had the exact same dispenser but that one had a picture of a fish on it. Leading the doctor to comment, "She is able to see the similarities in things she recalls from memory and the things she is actually looking at." Out of the box thinking.
