a social introvert just like me. He needs time each day to "re-energize". Since he is in daycare all day M-F he doesn't get it there so he spends an hour on the couch with a cup of milk, wrapped in his favorite blanket watching Clifford when we get home. I wait for him to come to me when he is ready for interaction. This is a necessity and part of our daily routine. Without it he becomes the grumpy boy.
This works out well for us because I can get dinner started quietly while he is having quiet time on the couch.
