also, DO NOT cut them. The flowers are produced from last year's wood, which is why many hydrangeas don't bloom here; they freeze down to the ground and therefore must produce new wood each year.

Transplanting will also put them into shock, it may take a couple of years for them to recuperate from the move.

I planted the wrong kind here in North Texas, so I don't think I will ever have blooms again (it isn't like the Gulf coast of Alabama, where I moved from, there, they were stunning!).
