tulip trees

Need help fast!!!!! trying to get a start on a yellow tulip tree that is fixing to be cut down.. If is so very pretty and would love to have the whole tree but the people during the re-flowering of the flower bed doesnt want to take the time to get it out. just cut it down....... Is there any way I can save a start of the tree. Need help fast they are wanting to cut it down very soon......Please help??

p.s. is the root bulb really far down? could a pick up truck pull it up? I can't dig to deep have lung problems but if there is a chance my pick up truck could pull it up I would try it myself.
