Hello, I would like to learn the art of machining before it becomes lost to CNC machines and such. I have a lot of machine shops in the area because I live in the oil field. How can I convince one of them to let me be an apprentice or something? Lately I have become very interested in arts of fabrication, and I would like to learn them before returning to my academic career. Thank you for any suggestions you can provide.
