Response to Miss Callie celebrates her birthday today:
What a looker! What a bad-butt! How darling. Her cousins Zeke, Earl, and Juno are grieving. They say they could have made the party! And helped with that steak. Right.

Saw the rescue org. (LAPAW) lady at PetSmart last Saturday. We shared some laughs at how PawPaw Zeke found just the right three suckers in succession at just the right time. Her house had been destroyed by Rita, and she was, at that time, living in a 25' travel trailer with 4 other dogs. When Dr. Stark released Zeke, she wasn't sure how it was going to work out, but she brought him home anyway. And then we turned up. He is a sweet sweet boy, and our only regret is that we couldn't have known him as a younger dog. He has a gift for happiness, although his back legs give out about twice a week. We are watching him closely, but so far he thinks the quality of his life is just fine. Earl and Juno continue to be their happy bad selves.
