Hanks Ailment

Hank started looking and acting peculiar a couple of days ago. He hid out in the closet -- that's not particularly unusual except that he was hanging out much longer in there and hissed at me if I tried to pet him while he was in there (he's never done that before). He was smacking his lips and his face was contorted into a perpetual "smile". He was eating and drinking and evacuating normally but things just weren't right. I decided that he was going to the Vet on Friday or Saturday unless things improved.

By Friday he was better. By Saturday he was back to his old self. All I can figure is that he had something lodged in his teeth (and perhaps, partially down his throat) that broke up or somehow became dis-lodged. I suspected that from the beginning but Hank would have no part of my examining his oral cavity (I tried several times).

Thank Gawd he's OK now but Hank has a long history of swallowing sections of plastic grocery bangs, string, and dental floss. I post this as a warning to other cat owners who might not be aware that some cats have an affinity for these types of things (including ribbons, and rubber bands, and just about any other stingy thing).
