Response to I used to get in the car and go after Max

was a constant occurrence for the 13 years we lived next to a major thoroughfare with two bad doxies (Katie and Ethel) whose goal in life was to run out past you when you opened the carport door to leave. How many times did they run out when I was trying to get out with a baby in my arms as well as purse, diaper bag and various and sundry other items. I'd put the kid in the car seat and comb the neighborhood with the windows down calling their names. When I'd come upon them, I'd stop and open the van door and act like they were going to get to go on a ride so they would run over and jump in. I swear, they were worse than either of my children! Now we live outside the city limits on a three acre lot and when Sissy and Madison escape, they run around a bit and eventually come back in pretty short order.
