I think my dogs plan their potty activities that way, too.

Monday: "okay - you poop there today and I'll tinkle on the paper. Tomorrow, I'll poop on the paper, but you should tinkle on the wall."

Wednesday: "Nobody does anything bad today; hold it till they get home. We need treats!"

At least 90% of dachshunds

refuse to be housebroken. I have one of those, namely Madison. We got her when she was four, so we aren't totally to blame, but it's incredible that we have a doggie door and big fenced yard but she comes back inside to do her business!

Her dialogue consists of: "Well, Sissy and Chester, you stupid dogs can squat outside if you want to, but I'll only lower myself inside - and not even on the paper!"

All 3 of mine go outside...thank goodness

January 22 2008, 8:18 PM

My little one (Jack) came to me trained. My big one (Baby) had to be trained by me. It was a job! My old one(Booda) lived outside for the first 10 years of her life. She has only come in for the past 2 years. She trained herself. That was good.
