Brewer is awful. It seems like he is on the ice for
every goal against. He's playing way too many minutes,
which is over-exposing him. Too many give-aways and
mistakes in his own zone. How was this guy ever on Team
Canada, and in the Olympics. Then we add insult to injury
and make this guy our captain?? Anyone else agree?

Agree 100% But the loss of EJ has put the Blues
in a bind on D. I believe Brewer was a -3 in tonights
game. A quick team like the Ducks really exposes Brewers
lack of quickness. The captain issue really isn't a big
one, everyone knows this is Walt's team.

Mistake also made in keeping Jackman. He looked lost in the game.

Lets trade Brewer to someone for a bag of pucks, and
some video games for the younger players.

I have to agree with the comment made that this topic has no business being on this forum. The topics we've come to expect on a Youth Hockey Board have more to do with MILF's, bad mouthing of coaches and refs, and endless streams of self-promotion. Serious debate, even if it is about the Blues, seems out of place.

Agreed. Brewer and Jackman are awful. And we had them
paired together often last night!! The trend in the NHL
right now is quick skating, puck moving defensemen. Eric
Johnson is one, but he's hurt, and Pietrangelo will be a good
one as well, but he's only 18(I would take him over Brewer and
Jackman right now). Mckee is old and slow, Wagner and Weaver are
inexperienced, but may be decent eventually. Polak is just about
in the same boat as Wagner/Weaver.

You think that somebody on the Blues would remind Brewer that he is a defenseman. Went to the Blues game Monday night and the guy played as much behind the Preds net as he did at the Blue Line. I unserstand being able to make a rush, but then get you butt bad in position.

tough night for Big Walt last night. Undisciplined in front of net late in game, then couldn't get the puck out of the zone on winning goal late in game. I am sure Murray wanted to kick his butt after the game, but Walt is playing hard. He just does some really stupid things. Too bad.

Now that Brewer is gone for the season, that should improve our defense, this team should really start clicking now......... oh wait....... we lost 4 of the 5 games he has missed.

Don't get me wrong, Brewer is no all star defenseman, he is a decent defenseman on a horrible defensive roster. Even if we would have started the season with EJ this would have been a bad defensive unit at best.
