Advanced Development Model and High Performance Club...
Chesterfield will get the ADM since they like titles and their geographic proximity to AAA but, the ADM designate comes with a lot of string attached and isn't cool for the kids until they get older. Might be a carrot to get kids to stay with a rockets or meramec club instead of jumping ship to CS or AAA early on.
The HPC will probably go to AAA-its almost a given since they have the highest level of play in town but the HPC doesn't go for the parent-coach thing.
Damnit, tricked into talking about this. |

Affton will get the HPC designation.
The Blues won't eliminate the AAA teams below bantam, add the 2nd tier supporting teams, remove parent coaches, and have USA Hockey tell them how to develop players. |

How much cash will be involved in that Affton transaction. |

St. Peters Hockey and the St. Louis Selects should also be considered a canidate. They would be able to provide the required off ice facilities, plenty of ice, the High performance teams at bantam and above, and the the ADM feeder teams.

What kind of idiot thinks that St.Peters could any kind of winning teams together. How soon we forget the dismal CS program they had. Their BTAA team finished dead last this past year. Must be something in the water out there. |

It won't be about St. Peters putting together winning teams. The Advanced Development Model (ADM) is completely counter to putting any emphasis on winning. St. Peters will provide the 8u 10u 12u 14u teams. Cavallini's Selects will be the HPC teams. No other St. Louis Club has the resources to handle the off ice requirements of USA Hockey for the new program. |

Gino Cavalini:
Gino presented the USA Hockey High Performance Hockey Club concept. He described the way the hockey programs in Canada follow these examples. USA hockey has done the research and is initiating a pilot program. This program will consist of 36 organizations and will be targeted and used as a template program. The program will span from Learn to play all the way through Midgets. It will dictate how many games and how many practices each team will hold. It will also dictate which teams will be played. Each club that is selected will have this program closely followed through the process to gage the success level. Each club would need to apply to USA hockey to be considered one of the pilot clubs for this program. Full documentation is on USA’s site.
Gino is asking is STPH wants to submit an application to be considered for this USA hockey program? The board was in agreement to further research this opportunity and submit and application.

Not a sure thing- Most mwehl teams don't like it and neither do the the east coast teams, it might not go through and things will stay as they were |

USA Hockey will not pass on the 8.5 million. It is a sure thing. You'll have a number of the top AAA teams opt out by not applying. The AAA Blues should continue as the local AAA representative and play the other AAA teams that don't apply or get rejected. You will have a St. Louis based HPC not affiliated with the AAA Blues which should be good for local hockey development.
Don't be surprised when the 2nd level MWEHL teams break rank and apply for HPC status. If the MWEHL clubs hold rank there will be plenty of tier II clubs in Chicago and Detroit sending in the applications.
In time, the top players will gravitate to the HPC teams.

Have seen the "AAA" stuff for quite some time now. If USA Hockey really wants an elite national league, it should only have 10 teams in it. The 20th AAA team is brutal, absolutely brutal, much less the 36th team. St. Louis will get hosed in this thing if it plays out. We'll be required to play teams from Columbus, Nashville, Cleveland, etc. instead of being able to cherry pick games against the top teams. Bad, bad idea. If they want to improve hockey, they should put the money into making sure ice time is available for kids who want to do extra practice. Good luck trying to find a sheet in St. Louis for stick & puck or even just full speed skating during the winter. |

Interesting subject no doubt.
I believe in what the Cavs are doing and wish them the absolute best.
We know what competition can do and this will certainly make a few teams take notice.
And who cares if the teams have to play Cleveland, Nashville or where ever. They will have other tournments they can play. The players on their teams will benefit from the coaching the Cavs will provide.
I still support the Cavs even after my boy got cut from them. That fact of the matter is that they are the best coaches in the area. That is my opinion and this is what this place is based on. Opinions.
129am guy, I am concerned that you are up that late posting on here. If you have a problem with the Cavs go to the St. Peters rink and let them know your thoughts.
Now without any further delay, bring on the MILFs! |

Can someone let us know what is going on? |

High Proformance Clubs are already picked by the guys at US hockey who have spent the $8mil a year from NHL to hire friends not to make us hockey better or cheaper. Just ask Tier 1 people in colorado who they let have teams this year and wo dont. Thats there headquarter and they run the show there. Has nothing to do with whos best just who knows the right guys at US Hockey. Dont waste time applying unless they ask you too cause they already know who they want and it dont matter what you do or if your good or not only if they can control you. Its the biggest joke ever and needs to fail. |

Sounds like the is written right from the Affton Press Release in response to why Affton CS or Chesterfield CS won't get the team.
I will agree that somethings that USA hockey does are very narrow minded and shows favoritism to a chosen few | |
