Both teams will be very good. |

Based on what information? Pre-skates? |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | June 15 2009, 11:18 AM |
Yes. Both teams look very good. Chesterfield looks deeper but they don't have the caliber of players to match up with Affton's top 4 or 5, and Affton has a shut down goalie. My prediction is that Affton will be a top 10 team and will have a great shot at nationals. Chesterfield will be a top 20 team and will be an upper division team. |

Affton has the kid who played on the 96 Central States team last year. Chesterfield has a bunch of kids. Don't know their names. |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | June 17 2009, 6:37 PM |
Affton looks like the '27 Yankees, could they go undefeated?
But chesterfield is like the '69 Mets, no one is picking them.
But they have that chemistry: the Big Coal train and his Bumblebees |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | June 18 2009, 6:53 AM |
Chesty may have some nice chemistry going, but speed, skill, and talent very sparse at these skates. 1960 Mets, no, but a championship team like the 69 Mets not even close. Lets say the Cubs, always a distant second. |

It will be like the Americans vs. the Russians in '80
This chesterfield team gets no respect even before the roster is set
Can a wily coach get them to believe in themselves and upset the russian juggernaut? |

We are still talking about Tier II hockey here..right? Just want to keep things in perspective. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | June 18 2009, 8:28 AM |
It wasn't your kid who was worried one of the Affton players was going to take a AAA spot was it? Let's keep that in mind when we make statements to belittle ones choice. Keep up the good work and keep looking over that shoulder. They're coming! |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | June 18 2009, 11:12 AM |
How about spending the 15K, knowing 4-5 at Affton might take your spot any year |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | June 18 2009, 11:23 AM |
Ha Ha, Tier 2. I love it. You do know your little super star cs player is still Tier 2, which is like the minor leagues compared to AAA(Tier 1). |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | June 18 2009, 1:08 PM |
AAA folks getting on a website to tout how great they are, who could imagine. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | June 18 2009, 1:31 PM |
I think they are just keeping things in perspective for the Dads who think that their kid is a superior player because he plays CS. Newsflash, last time I checked AAA(Tier 1) is Above CS(Tier2). |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | June 18 2009, 2:15 PM |
Again, CS is your gathering of the best AA level players that are hoping to get a shot at a tier II national title. Its not bad hockey, its great hockey, but they still are competing for a tier II title. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | June 18 2009, 2:57 PM |
Who would win in a matchup? A Tier II statewide allstar team or the AAA team?
mm = Tier II
95 = Tier II
96 = even
97 = even
98 = AAA
99 = Tier II |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | June 18 2009, 3:24 PM |
Who would win?
AAA
AAA
AAA
AAA AT EVERY LEVEL. MOST GAMES WOULD BE NO CONTEST!!
AAA
AAA
AAA
AAA
AAA |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | June 18 2009, 3:35 PM |
96-Even? Why didn't they trot up to Quebec then last year? Last I checked, anyone can enter into tournament. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | June 18 2009, 4:39 PM |
1:31 and 2:15- thanks for all you do.
It is great when nice people like you fucktards can help us keep things in perspective and explain how Tier II hockey ain't that all bad.
Well, newsflash right back at ya, some people who choose not to spend their money and time chasing an elusive dream while also enjoying the benefits of playing competitive hockey might already have things in perspective and are very likely to understand that Tier I hockey is most of the time a higher level than Tier II.
Then again, this year with the Selects I hear there are a lot of AAA folks that wouldn't be on the team while the others are looking around going "how the hell is that kid on a AAA Midget team?" so you never know anymore. |

Impressive, original post asks how many at Chesty & Affton PW MAJOR skates. Yet it only took 10 added posts to make it a referendum on AAA vs CS and only 9 more for it to degenerate to a Selects vs AAA thing. Who knows, maybe one day someone might even answer the original posted question. |

|

June 18th 11:23am
If your comparing CS to the minor leagues, this must mean you feel AAA is the major league. I'm sure all of us lowly parents whose children are trying out for CS (seeing as how we'll be saving alot of money) can ban together and fundraise the money to help you afford psychological counseling when you come to the rationalization that you too, or should I say that your child also, is playing a youth sport meant to be enjoyed and a lesson in team work and discipline no matter what level your child chooses to try out for. Good Luck to all children no matter where or what YOUTH sport they choose. |

Both teams will be top teams in their league, but Affton is clearly the better team at this point. |

Hmmm. Best CSDHL in MO and Best AA in MO compete. Winner goes to regionals. Regional winner goes to nationals. |

Hmmmm 11:11, there are no regionals any more. As the other posted said. It is not determiend yet. Another net 54 non know it all
Try checking the web site once in a while http://www.mohockeyyd.org/

Uh, That sure is an intelligent response. No regionals has been known for months and posted on the web site for months. Easy to know more than you. |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | July 4 2009, 8:36 AM |
Did anyone get an update on this? Both posters are correct-The Tier 1 is the same as before. Tier 2 is up in the air.
Is this kind of decision made at a Mo-am board meeting? |

Anyone know if Affton is hosting another major year tournament out at chesterfield as it has done in year's past? |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | July 8 2009, 9:33 AM |
If there is money to be made, there will be tournaments. Chesterfield is a good spot to host a tournament with three rinks, just don't expect much help out there if they are the hosts. Too many store-bought princesses and boot licking junior executives to get any real work done there. Affton should get off it's collective asses and get another rink built at existing facility. I know the Fenton money pit stands in the way... |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | July 8 2009, 10:24 AM |
CHA's hosting of last years Regionals was not impressive to say the least. St. Peters has an outstanding facility and if they could lose the "homer" refs could provide an excellent venue. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | July 8 2009, 10:49 AM |
I have heard Affton wants to sell Fenton now. |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | July 23 2009, 3:47 PM |
That looks like a fairly balanced team, maybe a bit lean on the Cfield players. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | July 23 2009, 7:29 PM |
How can anybody at C'field get excited about the fact that only two players from the home club made this team? |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | July 24 2009, 10:09 AM |
I think what this proves is Chesterfield is taking advantage of the open districts and choosing the best players available.... regardless of which club they are from...... which they should do!!! |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | July 24 2009, 10:44 AM |
Just get rid of all the districts, mandate that kids must play at least 2 years for an organization before moving on and it will force clubs to do a better job instead of holding kids hostage |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: PW major central states | July 24 2009, 11:06 AM |
Yes, get rid of districts and quit holding kids hostage. |

There will be no contest at this level for CS. Garth will coach his way to Nationals |

This team is not about Garth. Most anyone could coach this group of kids to nationals. |
