OOOO....God....don't go down this road again. Enough about the AAA 95 money boys and parents being upset that there kids were screwed over. Let's discuss the CSDHL tryouts. There are a lot of good players out there that will be at the Chesterfield and Affton tryouts. Who will be the best team? What about coaching?

Does anyone know what the Affton '95 coach does for a living? I mean his regular daytime job? I THINK his name is Brian McGlynn.

I did not realize it was possible to be too skilled to have the AAA coach take you. Thanks for that tidbit.

You can't be too skilled, but you CAN be too small/short for the '95 coaches. Fair enough.

Chesterfield will get the key AAA castoffs and some other good players coming over from AA land.

"Chesterfield will get the key AAA castoffs..."

assuming you mean from last year's squad, there are only four of them and I doubt the Springfield (IL) kid will commute for CS. I figure the big winger goes to Chesterfield and the other two (F & D) go to Affton.

CHA had a good team last season with bad coaching. They only need a few players to make things work.

Take your game to Affton this year. Good coaching, solid chance at national berth, Nike Bauer and an appearence in prestigous NAHL Future Prospects AAA tournament in Blaine, MN in September. Great tournament and just a ton of college and junior scouts. Affton does it again moving ever so close.

You are better suited for Chesterfield. Just some advice, it helps to be tight with the coaches or to be wealthy. You could be AAA material if you are both.

Chesty Coach tries power play move!
For the second time in three weeks, Head Coach Scott Brandes offers an assistant coaching job to a player parent in order to try and secure players. Concerned over the diminised field of players attracked to Chesterfield, he first offers job to the father of Affton CS captain from last year in an effort to lure his son to play there. When that doesn't work he offers and M.T. accepts the assistant coaching job. Can't have one of the best kids left on the team trying to play for Affton. This after sending out e-mails to the majority of Bantam players decribing how great it will be to play for chesterfield with his impeccable resume, and implying that he will have former NHLers to assist him. But it is all good because anybody that has been around M.T knows that he is the only coach that knows what he is doing and he will not hesitate to tell you that his son has not had a coach that has been worth a dam. Hey, whatever it takes!!!

Don't both clubs try to attract the best players? They all do it at every level.

Why would anyone want the baggage of the CAPTAIN anyway? Good player, small, slow and have to put up with TL all season.....Not worth it. Affton can keep the Captain.

MT for TL great trade.

I think that you are correct, TT was probably not going to make it. Probably a good idea that he went back to CHF. I agree that there is some sort of recruiting type activity at all levels, but I think Brandes has taken it to new heights.

Played for him. If you want to learn how to stick handle great. If you want a coach that comes prepared for every practice and is good in game situations its not going to happen. Unorganized. Not to mention, I can just see it now, he's telling the kids one thing and MT will be telling them something totally different. But to each his own. They should have a great team with all of the former AAA kids that should be on the team. We will have to wait and see.
