Has anyone heard how the St. Louis kids are doing in their Jr A tryouts? I heard Warning made a team somewhere. How are all the kids doing in their quest to make it?

By the late 1990s it became clear that we needed to do more, and in 2001 the University implemented a variety of financial aid improvements to create the best possible need-based aid program. Central to this program is our groundbreaking "no loan" policy; Princeton was the first university to offer every aid recipient a financial aid package that replaces loans with grant aid (scholarships) that students do not pay back.

Above is straight of the their web-site, so I guess you are WRONG.

You are still wrong, there is a big difference between need based financial aid and a scholarship. Consider that Princeton routinely rejects valedictorians and kids with perfect ACTs and SATs, last year they admitted 7.9% of their applicants. Does not matter whether the boy got money, what matters is that he got into one of the best schools in the country.

Here is the Ivy policy on Athletic Scholarship:

The Ivy Group Agreement established the core tenet that an applicant's ability to play on a team would not influence admissions decisions:

"The members of the Group reaffirm their prohibition of athletic scholarships. Athletes shall be admitted as students and awarded financial aid only on the basis of the same academic standards and economic need as are applied to all other students."

Hey dipshit, nobody said it was an athletic scholarship. The above statement came straight from Princeton's admissions page exactly how it is written. It is a "no-loan" policy.

10:57 was wrong. He was implying that Berger will get money for being a princeton hockey player. That is not true. He accepted an offer to play at Princeton. He will get grants and/or financial aid for being a princeton student.

A tremendous accomplishment to be accepted to Princeton and to be asked to play on their hockey team. Way to go.

my understaning is that he was not going to Princeton this upcoming school year, he would start the year after and that they were still going to hold the scholarship.

He didn't imply anything, you assumed he meant for hockey. Nowhere does it say a hockey scholarship. Just admit it, you where wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.

No idea what the kids hockey plans were/are or if he was planning on playing at Princeton. Fact of the matter not only a tremendous hockey player and student, but the perfect ACT Score is what I think Princeton was impressed with.

There is no scholarship waiting for him. The boy has to go through juniors, for one, two or even three years, he is not even promised a spot on the Princeton hockey team, but he is assured entry into Princeton and what an amazing accomplishment that is. Congrats to JB, great kid, great family.

To the person that posted this, it is real simple. You are wrong. There is no scholarship. It is ok to admit you were wrong.

And why does anyone really care. If the kid wants to go to college great if he wants to play in the ushl one year great.

I dont think anyone cares about that. The kid is very bright and a great hockey player so he has lots of choices. And that is a great thing. Good for him. Dont know the kid but I am happy for him.

I think what we are getting a kick from is the guy who posting he took a Princeton Scholarship. When pointed out that is not correct, the guy points out that since he might be eligible for financial aid it is indeed a scholarship, what a buffoon.

1:50 The Illinois Frontenacas are in the Great Lakes Junior Hockey League (GLJHL) they are now Jr B.

From: http://www.gljhl.pointstreaksites.com/view/GLJHL

G.L.J.H.L. GRANTED JUNIOR B STATUS

USA HOCKEY at the mid-winter meeting granted the Great Lakes Junior Hockey League Junior B status commencing this upcomming season 2009-10. The G.L.J.H.L. in it's first 4 months has developed it's players to the point where our talent pool was stronger than expected, our play was far greater that the Junior C probationary level granted as new league and the benifits of moving up to the next level were greater and more benificial to the players and the league than Junior C could offer.

In it's first year as a USA HOCKEY sanctioned league, two teams went to Nationals to play against each other in the semi's and the Chicago Huskies went on to the finals to win the NATIONAL TITLE.

"This is something that has never been done before said Dan Esdale, Vice President of USA Hockey and chairman of the junior council, a new league, four months into existence, granted the next competitive level, has two teams in the semi's and one moves on to win the National title, all in its first season, Great Lakes & Chicago, you have raised the bar".

I am still trying to figure out the pecking order for Jr A. I noticed some kids from USHL teams have been drafted by NAHL teams. Is the NAHL considered higher level than the USHL? What is the pecking order?

Are you stupid, USHL is tier I Junior A the highest level in the US only. The NAHL is tier II the 2nd best in the US ONLY.
