Why is the CHA AA midget major team better than the CS midget major teams in the St. Louis area? When they beat the CHA CS team the other night, wasn't the CS team ranked #1 in the nation?
I don't know both teams in depth, but more than half of the players on the AA team are better than most of the players on the CS team - this includes players in all positions. What the heck is going on? The rumor is that the CS coach is looking to "steal" one or two kids from the AA team to try to change the balance or at least to even out the 2 teams. In theory, the least talented player on the CS team should be better than the most talented player on the AA team within the same organization. The coaches for both teams are good, but they have drastically different coaching styles from one another. Because they are within the same organization, why can't the coaches and organization get together and figure out what went wrong and correct it by putting the best CS team together they can from the two teams. If they did this, they very well may have the best team in St. Louis, at any level, at the midget age.
Maybe some of those kids do not want to play CS or for that coach or are also playing HS and know it is all about having fun at this point or 100 other reasons.
Yeah, Maybe! But I tend to think it is because the tryout system is flawed and sometimes fixed. Coaches are pressured to take kids because of who the kids' dads are, etc... The coaches already know who they are going to take (with just few exceptions) before one kid steps foot on the ice at the first tryout. A AA team should never beat a CS team within the same organization. If you cannot accept that common-sense maxim then there really is nothing to talk about. This is the second year in a row that this AA team has beat this CS team. What the hell is going on in Chesterfield? Why can't an organization have a tryout; pick a tentative CS team; have that CS team play the AA team and if they see as big a problem as was seen last week, make some severe player swaps? A combination of the best players from the AA team and the CS to form one team would create a team better than Cavallini's Select team (which is really only a CS quality team for the cost of about $11,000 per player) and probably better than the U/18 AAA blues team.
Maybe some of those good AA Midgets didn't go to CS tryouts because they rolled the dice at Affton's CS tryout and came up snakeyes. CHA CS announced first and so they were already committed to the players available at the time. As a result, CHA AA got q windfall.
Hmm! Let's examine your contention that the CHA AA team is made up of kids who were cut from the Affton CS tryout. The CHA AA team is better than the CHA CS team. The CHA CS team is better than the Affton CS team. If what you say is correct (which it is not), how flawed and fixed was the Affton CS tryouts?
As stated by the 10:44am comment, the coach already knows who is going to be picked before the tryouts begin. Happens in all sports at every level. The problem with that is that the coach takes Johnny year after year without regards to his or other player development.
As the old saying goes, pick the best players. Do not just give certain players a free pass onto the team because they played for the team before.
WTF? You people are idiots. Did you ever think that some of those kids on the AA do NOT want to play CS? Aren't interested? Could care less? Didn't even tryout?
All you need is a good goalie at AA who is better than the CS kid on a given night and the tables can be turned upside down for the beloved CS team.
Contrary to this board and all the kool-aid drinkers there are kids who just choose not to play CS with all the travel and commitments.
Have any of you heard about Homecoming, Prom, Jobs, Girlfriends, bands, concerts and other things 17 years old like to do?
You people are so wrapped up in your "development" mentality you cannot see the forest for the trees!!
nimrod, these aa kids are the same kids who had been cut from cs teams for the past 4 or 5 years; the fact that some of them didn't try out for the cs team this year as a midget major is hardly a vindication of the cs tryout system. I know for a fact many of these kids did tryout for the cs team this year and some did not. The cs team got its butt kicked in the 2-0 game earlier this week; the shots were close to 2-1 in favor of the aa team. It was not the case of a hot aa goalie shutting down a cs team on a rare occasion. The aa team was so dominant that the cs coach is now trying to poach several of the aa kids and have them play for him; as of this minute, the aa kids are declining the cs offer. The aa goalie was cut immediately after the first round of the cs tryouts. The CS and AAA programs are a fraud; the tryouts are fixed and act only as fund raisers for the teams and/or the organizations.
Purty funny you calling people a nimrod. Because a kid got cut before means he should have been picked this year even though he didn't tryout and has turned down an invite to play on the team now after "butt kicking" the CS team by a whopping score of 2-0?
I couldn't make this shit up if I tried. It was just a game. Somebody wins, somebody loses. Get over it. The CHA and AAA tryout "process", whatever that means, had nothing to do with it. Or did it?
You know for a FACT that some did and some didn't try out this year? Well I know they all wear skates and helmets when they play and use pucks and sticks also. WTF does that mean?
If the AA team was "dominant" why is he only trying to "poach" SEVERAL kids, why not all of them and kick those lame asses that he fraudentially picked to the curb? And I am the nimrod. Rich, so rich.
Good grief, you have your head so far up your butt you're eating your breakfast twice. The cs team has a 20 man roster. The coach cannot start kicking kids off the team to make room for additional kids. He is going to have to live with his idiotic selections for the rest of this season.
Look, the cs team lost to the u/16 team a couple of weeks ago in a tournament in St. Charles; the AA team beat the u/16 team during this same tournament. Prior to the tournament the AA team had practiced one time and it had an extremely short bench throughout the tournament. A couple of weeks later, the AA team played the cs team and beat them 2-0. The AA team had 2 whole practices under their belt prior to playing the cs team. If you don't think something is wrong with this picture, you are doomed to eating your breakfast a third time.
CHA knows which kids they have been screwing for years and years and now it is coming back to haunt them because they can no longer spread these kids out among their A1 and A1 declaration and A2 teams. These kids who have been getting screwed are now on just one AA team and they are kicking the hell out of the cs team withing the same organization. The truth is that a cs team within the same organization should beat its aa team by 5 or more goals, because in theory the cs team's least talented player should be better than the aa team's most talented player. As it turns out, the aa team is considerably more talented than the cs team.
No wonder AA is so cheap, they never practice. Sounds like they'd really be good if they got on the ice a little more often.
I wish I could get a hold of some of the stuff you're smoking, makes life look pretty good doesn't it?
This process of saying because this team beat that team, who beat those other guys so AA is better than AAA is funny. I've seen that done with college football and you could eventually say Lindenwood is better than Florida.
I think you missed the part where the AA team beat the CS team and where the AA team beat the AAA team. You go on paying your $10,000 a year so that your kid can play on his AAA team. The AA kids will continue to pay their $600 a year and kick the hell out of the CS and AAA teams. You are some kind of chump.
This is the same know it all asshole who said having one coach on two AAA teams was no big deal. That turned out great!
You fucking MORON, how can a coach pick players who aren't at tryouts? Not all people want to play CS, or play for Lindsey, or were screwed over for years by CHA. Some cannot afford it, some have lives outside of hockey.
God damn, half the fucking kids didn't even play for Chesterfield "all those years"!!
Settle down nanodick, the reason kids did not try out for the CS team was because they are fed up with the bullshit inherent in the tryout process. Year after year, the same dads are kissing the same butts to get their kids selected for CS teams on which they have no business playing. That is why at the midget level, the cha aa team is better than the cha cs team. The CS team got their clocked cleaned last week by a AA team that has practices just 2 times this season. It is because of dads like you that the CS program is messed up.
5:54- exactly how does my involvement, or lack thereof, have anyting to do with CS? My children never played for any Central States program.
You conspiracy nutjobs are a sad lot. There are many options out there and while CHA might have issues so does every other club. These issues can usually track back to imbeciles who spread their bile with statements about things being fact when in fact they offer nothing but an opinion.
Are you the guy that has no proof AAA has an unwritten, undocumented scholarship program that everyone should agree exists and is an idiot if we do not believe your dribble?
Come back with some actual facts about the process. Quit slamming volunteers at the clubs and these coaches. If you know about some secret hand shake or fraternal relationship that makes coaches pick less skilled players give us some proof, otherwise, STFU.
Sooo is the midget minor central states team at Affton going to take another forward and a goalie now or what??? And if they do who will it be from the developmental team???
If this is the CHA roster, is there room to add additional players from the CHA AA team? Is there going to be players cut now from the CS team to make room for new players?

the cha midget major team stole a kid from the aa team a couple of days ago; i guess that embarrassing 2-0 loss to the aa team shook the cs team up a bit - so much so that they are raiding the aa team for its players. the truth is that the aa team should be taking the cs players; the aa team is the better team and still is.
You guys are all idiots. The reason the Central states team picked up a kid from the aa team is becasue a kid left for affton's major team at the start of the season, so there's been a vacant spot on the team ever since. And by the way the Central states team has a perfect record besides one tie in league play. The loss against the aa team was a joke, no one on the central states team cared about it in the first place. So next time your kid can't hang with a better team, and then that team losses one time to a lesser team, quit trying to protect your kids talent, or lack there of, and lay off cause you don't know jack about hockey.
all you aa retards. Just because the cs team had there worst game the whole season doesnt mean that aa is better. Its a damn game!! CS hasn't lost a game yet in the series placing 1st right now, and im tellin you all of the teams cs has played are way better than the aa by far. Ya i would say they had three good kids with some talent and now we have one of them. So if ur gonna bitch why someone didnt make the team why u tellin us on the internet?
And good thing the CS team was looking at one or two of their players before their game against AA, and better yet the two kids that the CS team were looking at were the only two that did anything for the AA team that game. so what the CS team had a bad game that doesnt make them worse by anymeans.
It took me about 2 seconds to think of that. They prove it on the ice and now you are talking about all kinds of shit. They beat you, just STFU and make sure "it matters to your team" the next time you play.
the CS is better than any AA team, when was the last time a AA beat a CS team when it mattered, only the rockets a few years ago did it, and why beacuse at any moment the CS team can take control, but i do agree the CS fucked up it wont happen again
so its cool how dads on this thing cant put their name and be a man and say how they feel. grow a pair and say who you are instead of talking shit about the central states team. none of those players could play central states. we will play them again anytime and dominate them. - this is the player not the dad
AA is not the best team in STL for Majors, or Minors. The Major CS team did fuck up but it was a practice game that did not matter one bit. Thats why its called a practice game, when the Major AA team is in the top 5 teams in the country then we'll talk. The AA kids didnt make the CS team for a reason thats why their on AA for a reason, let it be because they werent good enough, didnt want to play CS, cant commit to the level of hockey at the central states level, or whatever it may be. The AA is not a bad team, but they are AA for a reason and yes some players are CS material but not all of them by any means.
If the game did not matter to the CS team, why were the CS players banging their sticks against the wall, mf-ing each other, while stomping to the lockerroom after getting their asses shutout by the aa team?
Two weeks earlier, the cs team lost to the u/16 blues; the u/16 blues lost to the aa team 3-1 two days earlier.
Why doesn't somebody post the e-mail TD (asst coach) sent to his players just before they played the aa team and then tell everybody that the cs team was not taking this game seriously. He went on and on about how their team is ranked number one in the nation and how they are going to have to play their hearts out to maintain that ranking. He was pumping the team up to kick the asses of the aa team. To say that the cs team did not take this game seriously is laughable. The cs team lost their number one ranking as a result of the loss to the aa team. I guess that did not mean anything to the cs team, huh?
That is exactly what 7:35 did, had no argument so decided to pull out the spelling/punctuation police badge. So I pointed out the hypocrisy of it.
11:10 you need to be a little more observant "How do you caplitalize a number? A savant you ain't."
Here is the post again.
"10:55 is obviously a cs player that is still hurt by losing. if not, his parent has horrible spelling and punctuation"
Not sure how you “caplitalize a number” either. However, did you actually look at the post? If you did you should have noticed there are TWO sentences. The SECOND sentence starts out "if not, his parent.....". Again, someone criticizing others and not paying attention.
11:20 who the fuck cares? So some other Asshole did it and you thought instead of ignoring him you should jump right in with the same comeback. Fact is his statement is accurate and is imply saying if it is a kid who wrote that crap he can understand the poor use of language skills, if an adult you should be embarassed.
Just like the game against the AA team, nothing to take seriously, just another post.
Well if it ever comes that far, hopefully the CSDHL squad will take the playoff games against the AA squad seriously about being the Missouri Champ and representing the state in nationals.
Would hate to send such an inferior squad (that somehow managed a victory where it counts, on the ice) to nationals representing the state of Missouri.
I want to see the e-mail the cs assistant coach sent each player before his team played the aa team. I am told that this e-mail went on and on about how important each game will be now that the cs team was ranked number one in the nation. It urged each player to elevate his game and to rededicate himself to being a winner. The very next game after the e-mail was sent, the cs team took a pounding from the aa team. I am told that the pregame talk by the cs coach urged his players to put the aa team in its place; he urged his players to show the aa team that the cs team is dominant and that the cs team should leave no doubt as to which team is better. Immediately after taking its ass kicking, the cs coach was hawking players from the aa team to play for the cs team. He got one kid to go along, but the cs team will still get its butt kicked by the aa team.
I just got off the phone with Gary Bettman and he told me since the AA team is so sick and every player is goin' to the big-show anyways, he'd like to expand the NHL to 31 franchises, the 31st being the "Chesterfield AA Parents Without A Clue". Mascot pending.
once again. dads talking shit on kids and wont say who they are. The AA team somehow sneaked one away past the AAA u16. anyone can win a game. if your that good why didnt your kids try out for AAA and make the team. just because you won one game against central states doesnt mean your the best chesterfield team. and there was only one person in the locker room banging his stick yelling everyone else was in there telling him to shut up and let it go cus it was a stupid game. maybe if your kid was on the team he would have known. oh ya and my spEllinG is jusT gREate i Am a stoopid centil staytes player who caynt mayke sentinces. SAY WHO YOU ARE INSTEAD OF TALKING SHIT ON EVERYONE PUSSY
and us kids could care less about the rankings. ya its cool to be number one but none of us were in that locker room crying over losing number one in the nation. just because a COACH sent out an email doesnt mean shit about the players so find another way to make yourself look like an asshole
I think Jimmy needs to post that e-mail on here so that everybody can make their own judgment as to whether or not the cs team took its game against the aa team seriously.
We have three games we can look to to see which is the better team between aa and cs. (1) aa beats u/16 aaa blues 3 to 1; (2) cs loses to u/16 blues; and (3) aa beats cs 2-0. It really isn't that hard to figure out which is the better team.
Maybe cs is waiting to take two or three more players from the aa team before they become brave enough to ask for a rematch.
In Jimmys defense he said the team did not take the email seriously except for the one kid banging his stick and yelling after the game and people told him to shut up because the game was stupid.
I think some sort of game should be arranged between CS and the AA parents. I bet their chirps would sound something like "Trust me, my kid is better than you!"
Hey, 6:56, so what aa lost to affton and in the same tournament cs kicked the shit out of twin bridges, then affton lost to twin bridges, your playing connect the dots to try and make a legitimate argument, when the fact is its hockey and every team has a chance to win every night, could aa beat cs again, possibly, but I wouldn't put my money on it, sometimes teams over look other teams and end up getting beat, if your just posting because you think your kid got shafted in the tryouts then im sorry, but from what I saw at tryouts the best kids where picked for cs, there were only two kids on aa who had a real chance of making cs and both were looked at for a spot on cs because of a roster opening, cause some kid left for affton, so sorry that your kid didn't get that second chance, but get over it, its over.
conrgats you beat a team a couple levels higher than you. AAA is definately better than aa and central states is definately better then AA. you won ONE game against us. do you know how many teams have beaten a team better than them. its a sport. anyone can win. but im sure many people agree that Central states would dominate AA in another game. so ask your buddy loyd to ask lindsay for a rematch. you wont be saying shit the rest of the year buddy. oh ya i forgot to mention. GROW A PAIR AND SAY WHO YOU ARE
oh ya. and we asked one player to play because we lost a kid and YOUR COACH. asked lindsay to take a look at him. your just upset because your kid isnt being asked to play cs.
James- AA and CS play at the exact same level. For on team you travel out of town to play teams that are not as good as some that are in your own city and the other team plays their games locally and travels for some fun.
A bright boy like yourself should be able to figure out which team you are on but they both play at the exact same level of play, that would be Tier II AA.
These parents are such legitimate dumbasses. They come home from their dead end jobs with meager incomes where their peers and bosses probably rip on them, to wives who have let themselves go to the point where shagging is nauseating. Their only escape is to sit in their recliner with a box of twinkies and talk trash on 17 year old kids in between sessions of internet porn, which they hold yearly subscriptions to for several sites. They're afraid their kids will fall into the same vicious cycle, so when they get cut from central states gary gongshow embarks on a crusade to rectify gongshow jr. and save the family name. Hope you've got a lot of twinkies.
No the team that made a bad judgement call against a team that was worse than they are, they took it too lightly and made a mistake. The AA team did play good in the game against CS and the CS team was upset when they lost but it was not a game that NEEDED to be won. All that matters now is the regular season and who will be representing Missouri at Nationals.
Talking of rankings, it looks like Sanderson and company rankings are dropping like a rock. Did someone say the 92's are a strong birth year? They aren't even close to the talent they had with the 91s last year.
Yeah that does make "sence", it is so watered down that one of the watered down teams is ranked number one in the country. Must be pretty weak with all the watering down, huh?
Has anyone taken into account the lack of focus on the MILF Consolidation Strategic Initiative and its coorelation with the relative strength/weakness of the age groups discussed above?
12:39 It's early. Last year he had a team that should of made it back to Nationals if not win it. He had many returning players from the team that won it all. A AAA caliber goalie a AAA player who came out of retirement. A very good Defense And so in December he causes a huge riff with one of his best players gives him his release so he can go to Affton.
At that time C S was 2nd in the league way ahead of Affton in the standings. Lindsey then tore the team apart The team was never prepared never adjusted if it wasn't on his legal pad it couldn't be done. I can't tell you how many times on the PP and PK that he had the wrong players out on the ice and when he finally got it right the puck was dropped or the ref siad he couldn't send the players out there. I can go on and on.
During the season he alienated alot of his players and he left them and parents a like wondering what was going on.
Remember I said this IT"S STILL EARLY He'll screw it up.
Some old timers might remember the chase ernst skating lessons cards. You paid up front and got each lesson punched on the card. One of the smartest investments since all the internet stocks....
against the same Omaha team who only has 2 wins....and didnt win a game last year.....and isnt the drive to Omaha the same or even longer for Chicago Teams?
