Yeah, an 11th place finish was worth $1,100 per kid. |

Last poster has this all wrong. This is all about:
building character, teaching players to have a goal and go for it, get noticed by the scouts and all that other stuff. |

maybe they shouldn't have been so secretive about tryouts. maybe better players were out there that didn't get "noticed". |

25th place for the U16 group and 11th for the majors. I bet the scouts were lined up to watch the Selects |

Heard that the teams did not do as good as they could have because the players were meeting with the scouts during gametime. |

I heard a couple of the boys even had to stay back at few colleges that were toured. The parents had to fly in to discuss details. |

I heard a few of the boys were put on super important scout lists which are much better than previous scout lists. |

I wonder how good your little johnies team would be if they lost 8 kids to various junior a programs throughout north america. oh thats right you don't have a dog in this hunt. you just like to smear poop on the wall, the problem is you are the one being splattered with the efluent. name any team anywhere who could lose one third of their team and still remain a top tier team. yes the selects are struggling, yes they are going through a difficult period, but they will be a better team and individuals for the struggle, why are you so against someone trying to chase a dream illusive though it may be. or in your language. don't be a hater bro |

The Jr B Blues won 4 national titles with 4 different teams. On more than one occasion, they lost 2/3 of a team and won again. |

I think kids develop at practice, not playing games.
Spend your money any way you want. Cavallini caught lighting in a bottle last year. The year before he coached the u16 AAA Blues and the kids who did not know found out he was a good coach. He was able to secure many superb players that would have easily made the Blues if they choose to play there. Fast forward to this year. He has a few holdovers on the major team who would have made the blues but by in large unlike last year he is dealing with players who did not make the blues for the most part or would not have had they tried.
Spend your money how you want, but last year was a much different set of circumstances than this year. |

that is true that most of the kids this year would not make MM AAA BUT IT IS up to the families to spend their money any way they want no diff than going out to eat or buying a new car its disposable income |

Players "do" get better in practice,so the Selects have a lot of practice time.
You also get better by playing better teams. The Selects are playing top notch competition as well as teams that are comparable to them. St.Louis players playing for them will be way better by the end of the season. New programs always have to pay there dues so to speak.
More power to the players/parents that want to put in the time and money to enjoy the experience of a AAA travel team.
Good Luck to the Selects!
