Ok..
Noticed even some of the cable users are getting slow speeds.
Some as low as 1 or 2k.
My dilemma is this.
NTL cap my upload speed at 16k.
This is shared between as many of you who can get in, and get a speed.
So, what happens is, if there is one cable user in, he can get really decent speeds ( depending on his connection of course..).
As more come in, they pinch bits of his, and gradually his is worn down, and the new arrivals get little bits of my upload speed.
A typical scenario is there are 10 or so people in, all getting next to nothing speed, with maybe one or two getting 2k or summat.
Other FTP's limit the amount of users to say, five..Any more than that, and speed is compromised.
What I'm asking is, would folk prefer to wait to get in, and get a chance of a decent speed, or continue plodding as we are now, but giving more people access??
lemme know what anyone thinks, ftp users or not, if you'd be so kind.
Cheers,
Mick.
