(girlfriend trouble) Trouble is its her house her conection and we will be no more
anyway i'll be back using a dial up.
which broadband should i go for? freeserve/ bt broadband / or something else ? I NEED!!! a company which provides all the newsgroups (like ntl ) as im now a binary addict (i have gone cold turkey from the internet once, for 7 months and believe me i didn't enjoy any of it)
so thanks for letting me ramble on
i trust your suggestions

Have a look there mate..it's a vast site, so stick with it.

Now, I know BT don't carry the groups NTL do..certainly not as many binary groups.
NTL carry virtualy everything.
Can you not reconnect with them?

I think Freeserve are connected with BT aren't they? I reckon their group carrying would be about the same.

sadly ntl told me 1 year ago that they'd be providing
cable t.v. access etc as they weren't signing up anymore analog users . so 1 year later i still can't get cable t.v. installed. i stay in a highrise and the sick thing is if i lived on the other side of the road
in a semi i'd be sorted.(and the conection i've been using is only a 5 min walk from my flat)

Get a long cable mate..I'm sure the people over the road wont mind you tapping in..

( Believe it or not, me and me mate over the road, after a few beers one night, actually contemplated this..I think we really only decided against it because of the signal loss over the length of the cable..! )

PIPEX

I've been on Pipex for a while now and never had any problems with it, connection is always available, always quick and never drops. Pipex carrys loads of the binary news groups (cheers Mick for getting me into that the music industy will die!). Wire's only package is £23 per month.

Check out http://www.adslguide.org/ for the best performing ISPs.

I've heard that BT OpenWorld is very poor.
