Don't know a great deal about it Dan to tell you the truth.
As far as I know, Roger left saying Floyd was dead without him in 1985. Wright and Gilmour had released solo stuff, saying that was the only way they could express themselves, as Roger was so demanding, he wouldn't let them work as they wanted.
Gilmour and Waters never got on.
Waters doesn't want the name Floyd used, so starting this feud and eventually winning royalties for images and stuff used.
The two eventually make up, on paper at least, but Waters later issues a writ for the use of the inflatable pig on the DSOT tour. Roger even tried to stop the comeback tour altogether.
So, the feud continues.
Apparently, Mason is buddies with Waters, and Gilmour would like to be, but Waters is having none of it.

I see both sides of the argument, but I've no view on who's right or wrong, much the same as Ian and Johnny Boy.
