Former Marine Raider, Dan Marsh, has some new articles on his website--e.g. Bless 'Em All: 2dRaiders,The Long Patrol; Edson's Raiders; Bougainville, etc. This information is from the now out-of-print book, "Bless 'Em All," by General Oscar Peatross.
At one place in his book, the author describes a meeting on Guadalcanal between LtCol Evans F. Carlson and LtCol "Chesty" Puller, who had come to visit Carlson. They had been old friends and discussed Haiti and Nicaragua, as well as the then present situation on Guadalcanal. Very interesting material to me, and, I'm sure, anyone else interested in the Raiders in general, and Carlson in paricular.
Carlson had previously, prior to WWII, written an article for the Marine Corps Gazette on Nicaragua in which he had included information regarding Puller and his service in Nicaragua.
