Members of WWII in MCL DEt. questioned what qualifies a Marine for a Good Conduct Medal?
I had over three years in four operations in the Pacific during WWII and received a hash mark after three years and did not receive any Good Conduct award nor had anyone else. I emailed Washington and never got an answer! any info would be appreciated. Semper Fi

Sorry for belated response; I'm a new joiner going back over old postings: 1. There have been no 3-year "hashmarks" in the Corps since back in the early 1800s. 2. Until 7/1/46, when the period was changed to 3 years, the Marine Corps (and Navy) Good Conduct Medals required 4 (four) years' of "good conduct".
