As per Friday's News Radio 88 CBS report: "Commish
Wants Gun Inspections," (which can be found at CBS.com)
law abiding NYC gun owners are heading for oppressive
times.
Mandatory annual gun inspections with prison time for those
who do not comply.
With Senator Charles Schumer on the left and eliminating
Hillary by substituting Mayor Rudolph Giuliani as the Senator
on the right, ALL Americans are heading for a heap of
trouble!

I have been informed that the radio report will be
rebroadcast:
Saturday night 03/11/2000 at 8:30 PM on WCBS 880 AM
radio in the NYC area.
Now with the Feds investigating the NYPD and Hillary
running for the senate from NY calling for federal control of
the NYPD... Just imagine... the Feds take over the NYPD and
Commissioner Safir's now proposed "Gun Inspection Plan."
Remember, he wants to set up a "DMV Style" bureaucracy
for annual gun inspections. Non compliance means being
sent to the "Gulag."
Some years ago NYC had this requirement of pistol
licensees. It was scrapped because of the fact that compliant
honest inspected gun owning citizens were being robbed of
their pieces as they were returning home from One Police
Plaza. Like taking candy from a baby. No loaded guns are
allowed by civilians at Pistol License Section. Very few
licensees are carry license holders in NYC. These poor fools
were sitting ducks for the "gun muggers."

Commish Wants Gun Inspections

NEW YORK

(WCBS) You get your car inspected once a year, and now
the New York City police commissioner is proposing that
your gun be brought in for an annual checkup too, as
Newsradio 88's Rich Lamb reports.
Special inspection stations would be set up under Howard
Safir's measure.
"Just about 100 percent of the guns that are used by
criminals come from the legal market," Safir said. "So they
are diverted from people who buy them legally to criminals."
Unless physically presented for inspection, owners would be
sent to prison or fined, Safir said. "If you were required to
bring in your guns in once a year for a safety inspection and
you did not, you would have to account for what happened to
your gun," he said.
Safir said the plan is aimed at preventing the river of guns
purchased legally in bulk in Southern states.
