Subject: POW/MIA Freedom Fighters News & Updates - June 2000

Greetings Friends, Members, & Supporters!

This month's topic for Operation:Pressure:

Commander Michael Scott Speicher, POW/MIA Persian Gulf War:
Where is he?

New evidence in the case of Cmdr. Michael Scott Speicher, shot
down over
Iraq
in 1991, speculates that he may have survived the crash of his
F-18. He is
the
first American "casualty" of he Persian Gulf War, being shot
down just two
hours
after the war began. There is no evidence that he died, and his
whereabouts
are
yet to be found. Please help keep the pressure on our
officials, as well as
our media, to keep this case in the forefront, and get another
POW/MIA home
where
he belongs. This will never happen without pressure from the
American
people.
We need to do this for Michael Scott Speicher, as well as all
of our
POW/MIA's
who still remain missing and unaccounted for. Please become
familiar with
his
case, and ask that there be no let-up until all of the answers
are in, and
Commander
Speicher is home, back in the United States, where he belongs.

On the 10th of June, please FAX, phone call, or snail mail your
congress
members
and also any newspapers or media to see what is being done to
follow up on
the
progress of this case. You might want to contact the Los
Angeles Times, as
they
printed Commander Speicher's story on Wednesday, December 6,
1997. You can
also
contact 60 Minutes II as they aired a show on this just a few
weeks ago.

Please help keep the pressure on.

For contact addresses and to view our generic letter which you
can use as a
base
for your own letters, please visit:

hosted or
participated

We hold 2 balloon launches each year and our 2nd one is
scheduled for
POW/MIA

host your own
event,

information on how to
proceed.

We are in the process of putting up a site listing by state how
one goes
about
getting a POW/MIA License plate. These are the ones available
to the
general
public. They are out there and available, if you look. We are
hoping to
make
that looking a little bit easier for everyone. This is so
important as it
is just one more way to show our support and involvement in the
POW/MIA
issue.
If you have first hand knowledge about how to do this in your
state, we'd
love
to hear about it so we can make that information available to
everyone.
Just
drop a line to: POWlicenseplates@powmiaff.com

*****

We are also still looking for any and all pictures of POW/MIA
flags flying
in
your community. You can send scanned pictures to:
POWflag@powmiaff.com Be
sure
and include the city and state where the picture was taken. If
you don't
have
a scanned picture, you can send it snail mail to:

POW/MIA Freedom Fighters
PO Box 2054
Fontana, CA 92334

We will return the pictures upon request if you include your
name and
address.

Also, if your POW/MIA flag is flying in your community, let us
know! Stop
by:

We'd loved to hear from you! If you have any ideas or
suggestions on ways
to
get the public more involved in the POW/MIA issue, please let us
know! Drop
a note to: ideas@powmiaff.com
