WCBBA WEIGHT PULL for postive promotion of our breed!

The WCBBA is proud to announce an upcoming weight pull event at the 17th annual South West Washington 2008 walk run for the animals.
Join us on Saturday May 3rd 2008, in the promotion of responsible bully breed ownership. The registration and weigh in begins at 7:30 sharp by the bell tower in Esther Shore Park.
It will be all breed and the classes will be split into two classes, 60 pounds and under and 60 pounds and over. There will be trophies awarded in both classes for most weight pulled and most weight pulled pound for pound. Entry fee is $10.00 and 50 percent of all proceeds are donated directly to the SW Washington Humane Society. We will be pulling with the cart.
Creates are required and your dog must be on a leash at all times.
This is our chance to make a difference as bully breed owners. With the BSL and the negativity that we all have experienced in owning our dogs we need to come together and take this step out and educate the people that have other breeds. We are all dog lovers alike!!!
We will need as many club members there are possible to speak and answer any questions that the crowd may have. Please call Misty if you are interested in helping for this event. 360-213-0215
For more information check out the link to the SW Humane Society website. There are many other fun activities and events going on at the walk run for the animals!

I think that one thing at a time would be best at this point.I know that we all have the same exact feelings regarding the treadmill but I don't think that the rest of the world in the public eye is ready for a treadmill presentation. I think that the weight pull will offer a variety of different dogs the oppurtunity to have this event go off with great success. We had visited the Idea of the treadmill but I think for now it is just better to stick with the weight pull.
However, I would love to take a monitor and PS3 and Run Video Thread of the Treadmill .We can even do some taping prior to the event if needed like at the next show and if someone would like to standby and explain how it works, how the mill works, what the event is set up for ect. I think that would be a wonderful Idea. as we will have an informational booth there and so the more we can put out the better.

We need volunteers to help with this early Saturday morning. Please let me know if you will be willing to pitch in. We need as many club members and show goers there to spread the word about what we do with our bully breeds. This is a great time for us to educate!
Let me know if you can help. Talk to you soon

We need to get a list of dogs that will be attending this event.I would like to have 3 or 4 of our calm/non-hyper dogs at this event.
Though I know many of us have great working dogs. I think that the best dogs for this event would be the dogs that are more people oriented and used to multiple dogs surroundings. I have seen and heard about this event and it is a dog free for all. People do not know boundary's and there will most likely be dogs on extend o leashes, loose dogs, and free walking dogs. There is no 5 foot rule at this event so. If you are bringing a dog please make sure that your dog is a dog friendly dog and can handle being approached and nosed by other dogs. It will happen.
So, I am going to bring the Frenchies. Mable and Erika. Maybe Sunny. . .
Who is bringing who.

We will bring Tonka. My frenchie is too little... :O(
Stinky is a great dog though, he can change any mind about the breed..... :o)
I am so EXCITED for the WCBBA and all of our members, this is what is is all about, it is what it has to be all about until people know that these dogs are just as great, if not greater then all the other breeds out there.
See y'all there!

Please make sure to contact Misty for all of your questions regarding this event.
This Weight Pull Event is A Fun Show Event and will be Scored soley by the dogs weight as a 60 lb and under or 61 pound and over measurement.
There will be no separate class wins. Just Trophy wins MWP/PFP - for 60 and under /61 and over.
WCBBC does not offer a 60 lb and under / 60 pound and over classes class line up.
This line up is designated for this event specifically.
I feel that it is necessary to let you know this information as I do not want any of our competitors to expect this as a permanent change in scoring system. It is not.
Best regards,
Melissa

Here is an update on the WALK/RUN for animals. Club members will need to be there by 6:00 am we have to be ready buy 7:00 because we have been warned that walkers and competitors will show up early.
The weight pull will actually begin at 7:45 so everyone must be registered, signed in and weighed in.
There is street parking once you unload, you will have a small amount of time to unload and DO NOT DRIVE ON THE GRASS. After you unload you can park at Park ‘n’ Go on W 6th St.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone there, and have had many phone calls regarding the event thank you everyone in advance for your support. 360-213-0215

Thank You everyone! We changed at least a few ideas on what the bully breed is about! I am so proud to not only be a bully breed owner but to know so many responsible dog owners.
