i'm not offended it just looks like a power trip to me. it simply seems that some people on this site think its their duty to be the contest police with IP checking. none of us are forum moderators and it isnt our job. it looks like this contest becoming very elitist. its not just you Tony...i'm actually surprised that you brought it up...but its mainly some other people

You're clearly taking it out of context. It's not as if people believe it's their "duty" to check IP's. In chat, people look at the visitor page to see who is on, who came in, what have you. The visitor list shows the IP.
Forum moderating has nothing to do with it. When someone is posing as another person, it's pretty insulting towards the other writers in the contest and me just pointing out that both the Ryans on this site coincidently have the same IP address is a bit more notable than someone looking at a visitor page on Chatzy.

And just to add, there is no "power" in looking at a visitor list on Chatzy. If anything, it's trying to clean up the contest from people making false duplicates.

Sorry, but I stand behind Tony, and for whatever reason, we've been getting people posing as more than one person in the contest. So it is natural for the people here, who've been here for a long time, who've been honest, to be overly observant of IP addresses and inconsistencies. Heck, we'd like to know who we are talking to. And if you think it's a power trip, then that's a nice little observation that doesn't matter to anyone, cos it doesn't change the fact that you're IP address is the same. The question is merited, regardless of your less than flattering observations of us. To be honest, we don't care if you think we're IP stalking nazis. We're not stupid and we're not gonna allow that duality persona bullcrap fly, so expect to be grilled here and there. It's also good to make these kind of facts known to Johnny so that he'll pay more attention to the person baiting to catch any possible cheating of any kind.
