I am not going to put my predictions out until the first week of July but let me just say this: If Rachel Griffiths submits last night's episode of Brothers & Sisters than she will be my predicted winner. Her work was superb and she is certainly due.

If Patricia Wettig submits "Moral Hazard" as her episode she could definitely get a win. Her seen with Van Camp was amazing!! I had to watch it twice. I think this year will be dominated by the women of Brothers and Sisters not those from Grey's Anatomy. Griffiths is sure to get nominated, and it would not be a complete surprise if Van Camp got a nomination. However, I am officially routing for Wettig for the win!

Best Drama Series
Brothers& Sisters
Dexter
House
Lost
Mad Men
Possible Nominees
Battlestar Galactica, Big Love, Boston Legal, Damages, Friday Night Lights, the Riches, the Tudors
This is a tough category to predict with so many series deserving of this nomination. I think House is a lock, it’s not only the highest rated drama on television, but its one of the best written and acted, and it’s safe. This year’s breakout critical darling is Mad Men, an entertaining look at the ad industry in the 1950s. It has the buzz and respect of the industry, getting support from Golden Globes and SAG; I believe it will be nominated. The next three spots are harder to fill. I’m going out on a limb to vote with my heart and not my head. I think Dexter, a critical and cult favorite will make the list this year. It came within striking distance last season, and with a stronger sophomore season it will be too hard to pass up. Lost hasn’t been nominated since it won for its first season. In its fourth season the show has rallied back to its most consistent season since it’s first. With memorable episodes, strong performances, Lost will enter the Emmy race once again. The last slot is the hardest to fill; I’m going to guess it will go to Brothers& Sisters because it’s a strong ensemble that has a lot of support. It could easily be replaced by Big love, Damages, Boston Legal, or Friday Night Lights.
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series
Michael C. Hall - Dexter
Jon Hamm - Mad Men
Eddie Izzard – The Riches
Hugh Laurie - House
James Spader – Boston Legal
Possible Nominees
Kyle Chandler – Friday Night Lights, Brian Cranston – Breaking Bad, Matthew Fox – Lost, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers – The Tudors
This is an incredibly competitive category. This could be one of the rare instances where the majority of the nominees come from cable – I believe James Spader, Hugh Laurie, and Jon Hamm to be locks. Michael C. Hall is very close to a nomination picking up nominations at the right precursors for the always entertaining Dexter, so I predict he will be among the five. The last spot I’m going to predict is Eddie Izzard who always shines in the FX series The Riches. He is a respected actor who really delivered this season. Brian Cranston could possibly sneak in for his awesome performance in Breaking Bad – voters may feel they owe him for not rewarding his hilarious work on Malcolm and the Middle. If Lost is popular with the voters (as I wish it does) Fox could sneak in for his first nomination (not likely though ) Meyers is close to a nomination as well, his show is respected, and this season is overall better than the first, I just see this category so crowded that he will be left off.
Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series
Glenn Close – Damages
Minnie Driver – The Riches
Sally Field - Brothers & Sisters
Calista Flockhart – Brothers& Sisters
Holly Hunter – Saving Grace
Possible Nominations
Patrica Arquette – Medium, Mariska Hargitay - Law & Order: SVU, Evangeline Lilly – Lost, Kyra Sedgwick – The Closer, Chloe Sevigny – Big Love,
This was a strong year for women on television and choosing who gets in is difficult. I think the two locks are Glenn Close and Sally Field, past Emmy winners, both on strong shows, I think they are safe. I think Calista Flockhart will get in because she is a respected actress and she has had a stronger season. I think Brothers & Sisters is going to do well this year with the academy, and I believe she will get in on that support. The last two spots are harder to fill. I’m going to predict Minnie Driver, the surprise nominee last year, who had a stronger sophomore season. I think she had another good year with the Riches so she is in. The last spot I’m going to give to Academy Award winner Holly Hunter – She has won Emmy’s in the past, and I think they will show her some love. Past winners Arquette, and Hargitay and nominee Sedgwick all had good seasons, but I don’t see the buzz for them, I think they will be passed up. As for Matthew Fox, Lilly will get in if LOST has a big night, but with Fox, I don’t see that happening. The real dark horse in my opinion is Chloe Sevigny – she is a respected actress on a critically acclaimed HBO show. With the Sopranos off the air, this is their drama contender, and with an aggressive campaign I could see her getting in.
Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series
Naveen Andrews – Lost
Ted Danson - Damages
Michael Emerson –Lost
Terry O'Quinn – Lost
John Slattery – Mad Men
Possible Nominations
Jack Coleman – Heroes, Henry Ian Cusick – Lost, Josh Holloway – Lost,
William Shatner – Boston Legal
This is a fun category this year. I am going to predict a strong showing for Lost in this category. Terry O’Quinn will be back after winning in this category last year. He is a lock. I believe his costar Naveen Andrews will receive his second nomination for his impressive work, and Michael Emerson will get in as well. The last two slots I believe will be filled with respected actors from two new hit shows. The first will be Danson, a legend who hasn’t been nominated for a series since Cheers, he is great in his role, and has received support from precursors – he’s in. I believe the last slot will go to John Slattery whose has a breakout year – not only on Mad Men, but his work on the popular show Desperate Housewives. Slattery will be hard to ignore with such an impressive year. Perennial nominee and past winner Shatner could always sneak in, but I think fatigue is settling in – with so many new shows, and stronger performance I could see him getting passed over this year. Other Lost hopefuls include Cusick who had a strong season but will be overshadowed by the more developed characters on his show. I would love to see Holloway get nominated, but I don’t see it happening this year – hopefully in the final season. A dark horse in my opinion in Jack Coleman for his consistently strong work on Heroes; Even though it didn’t have as strong of a season at its debut, his character was the most developed, and he could get in if he submits the right episode.
Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series
Julie Benz – Dexter
Rose Byrne - Damages
Rachel Griffiths – Brothers & Sisters
January Jones – Mad Men
Elizabeth Mitchell – Lost
Chandra Wilson – Grey’s Anatomy
Possible Nominations
Candice Bergen – Boston Legal, Jennifer Carpenter – Dexter, Katherine Heigl – Grey’s Anatomy, Sandra Oh – Grey’s Anatomy
This is one of the toughest categories to predict. As of now I will put six nominees because I couldn’t choose five. The closest to a lock I see is Chandra Wilson for the popular show Grey’s Anatomy. The show hasn’t been as consistent as previous seasons, but she has, I think she is the safest bet. I see a lot of surprise nominations in this category. I’m going to bet on Julie Benz for her strong work in the popular Showtime series Dexter. Two newcomers, Rose Byrne and January Jones for Damages and Mad Men, will most likely get in due to the popularity and buzz surrounding their series. I think Elizabeth Mitchell was robbed last year and deserved not only a nomination but the win for her work on Lost, I think Emmy voters will make right by her, and reward her with a nomination for her strong work this season. I could also see Griffiths getting in again for her consistent work on the hit show Brothers & Sisters – so for now I’ll include her with nominees. Bergen is an Emmy favorite, she should never be counted out – I think she will be overshadowed by newer faces. Last years winner Heigl won’t be nominated, she didn’t have as strong of a season, same for Oh.

If any of the supporting ladies on Lost get a nomination it will be Yunjin Kim. She is always amazing, and her centric episode this season was a standout that gave her good material. I don't see Elizabeth Mitchell getting a nomination. I do agree that she deserved one last year, but her centric episode was not that great. This category is very competitive, and I am thinking there will be a strong showing from the women in Brothers and Sisters in this category.

At the very least Kim deserves an Emmy nom. If she can make it into the top ten she should have no problem especially if she submits the season finale. The helicopter scene WOW.. And I love where her story is going! I always though her father was involved with Widmore!

I think its about time Henry Ian Cusick got the praise he deserves on Lost with an emmy nomination. He is definitley one of the best actors on the show and his character is great.
Also, since this is Battlestar's last season, I hope it gets noms for show and supporting actor (James Callis aka Baltar). It has always been a great show, and Callis has always done an excellent job (Baltar is my favorite character).
Last but not least, I'm pretty sure Ted Danso won't get another nomination in this year's emmys. His character (Frobisher) was killed off last season.
