Best Supporting Actress: My brain says Penelope Cruz, but my heart says Debra Winger. I really think Rachel Getting Married is going to have a Juno/Little Miss Sunshine effect at the Oscars this year, (probably not a best picture nomination, but nods for both Winger and Hathaway)

I know most people will not agree, but after seeing the trailer for "The Reader", I was blown away by Kate Winslet. There were several subtle moments there that conveyed great depth and showed her skill as an actress. For now, I'm placing her in the LEAD ACTRESS category and I hope she wins it.I still think Kristin Scott Thomas will receive a nomination, but I think the academy will prefer Winslet's role.
BEST LEAD ACTOR: Sean Penn in Milk (still looks like the frontrunner)

I thought she was just tentively in the supporting category until she decided if she prefered her lead role in RR or here. That was the last I heard from imdb. According to imdb, that was what the studio told everyone.
