AKC is considering allowing mixed breeds to register in a way similar to the ILP program. Please go to http://www.akc.org/mixedbreed_survey/ and fill out the survey. It is especially important for those of us who have purebreds and compete with them to suppport the acceptance of mixed breed dogs in these events. Hopefully, it will lead to a higher level of training and an incentive to spay and neuter for the general public. It will also open doors and offer more frequent events for people with mixed breeds that have worked so hard to get them well trained.
Don't forget though, that the Mixed Breed Club holds shows quarterly and is an excellent opportunity to work with and earn the same titles with your mixed breed dogs. It will be nice to have everyone working together and getting more opportunities to do so eventually.
