I just want to say THANK YOU,,, for standing by the pit bulls & not letting public opinion stop you from taking them into daycare.
As you know, I work in Tigard & lived in Gresham. My work hours & the long commute make it very hard for me to get Jayden the exercise & dog socialization he enjoys.
Before Dog Town opened I personally visited six doggy day cares in the Tigard & Lake Oswego areas & was turned down based solely on his breed. On all of them I offered to provide training certificates, references from his previous dog daycare, and dog walkers. Three of these places offered obedience classes & were very welling to allow him into their classes.
I even talked to the owner of one and asked if they crate him during the daytime so he could attend night training classes, and once he completed one of their obedience classes, then could he be allowed to participate in day care? I will to pay of the normal daycare fee while he was crated & their normal obedience class fee.
Every one of these places stated that they personally did not have a problem with his breed, but it was their other clients they were worried about.
Thank you for opening Dog Town,,, It is so refreshing to have a place to take Jayden where he can be treated as “Jayden” and not a pit bull.
