Walter Bancroft of Osgathorpe Road, Sheffield is my 'uncle' Walter. But in the marriage section of your website, the man who married Eliza Hargreaves is shown as William. I have a press cutting of a funeral (of William M Hargreaves, Eliza' dad) which specifically refers to him as 'Councillor Walter Bancroft of Sheff. Eliza's twin sister Alice was my granny. Walter was offered the chance to be Mayor of Sheffield, but declined on the grounds of age.He died when I was about ten, or thereabouts, c. 1957/8/9
