| Conference/Division winners for 2008
Big 12 N - Mizzou
Big 12 S - Okla
Big 10 - Ohio St
SE E - Fla upsets Ga
SE w - Auburn upsets LSU
ACC Coastal - Vir Tech
ACC Atl - will probably be the most competative conference - Clem looks best but Wake or Md could take it too.
Mountain - Utah
Pac 10 - Gut feeling USC might be vulnerable but to whom? Az? UCLA? Ore St?

BOWLING GREEN +13 @ Pitt
Any of you like Wannstedt as a coach? How has he kept this job this long?
MAC teams can play tough when stepping up early. Pitt is hyped, so they should be ripe for the Coach Dave Saturday Surprise that most of us have come to love. BG small on the money line if you can get it.
NORTHWESTERN -11 vs.Syracuse
NW should be motivated to pounce on this hopefully pathetic team. Should carry over decent level/quantity of talent. The only thing the Cuse has going for them is that they can't be any worse than they were last year.
UTAH +3 @ Michigan
Rodriquez for Carr might not be the major upgrade anticipated by most. Hard to believe the Wolves could lose their opener again to a minor opponant.
Utes should be loaded with unrecognized talent and experienced/capable to get the straight up win.
CLEMSON -4.5 vs.Bama
Hard to play this. Home field should be the deal maker. Ugly orange vs.ugly red. If the big runners roll for the Tigers, then Saban might have a problem. Very shaky chalk # here. Would love to see it go down. |

Playing Bama +5 in The Georgia Dome. I am a long time SEC guy and I'll take a good SEC team with points in a non-conference game 7 days a week. Good luck all - Greg |

a couple of late smaller plays:
TCU -6.5 @ New Mexico
OKLA ST. -7 @ Wash.St.
Should b 2 much offense for both home teams
Also Clemson has dropped to -4 vs.Bama.
Thought this was a Clemson home game.
Small lean towards the Tigers still
Good luck 2 everyone!

Looks like a nice call on the anti-Wandstadt bet.
I usually dont jump into pro or college until a few weeks in when i think i know something. But ill take a shot with a similar line of thought.
Bill Callahan sucks as a head coach. But he's not a bad assistant and wasnt horrible at acquiring talent. I expect Bo Pelini to do ok with the talent at Nebraska. Western Michigan has had some late season success vs big schools the last couple years, but I expect theyre overmatched against what should be a pumped up team and crowd. I dipped in at -14.5 then doubled up at -14.... |

No money line option my way, however this was my largest wager. Spotted Pitt a 14-0 lead, then took them apart from there. I LOVE playing against this coach!!

Easy win, though I ended up laying -11.5 and I don't do that often.
UTAH +3 @ Michigan
Rodriquez for Carr might not be the major upgrade anticipated by most.
My nest largest wager. Sadly no money line option here either. Best team won, though the refs did all they could to homer the Utes.
CLEMSON -4.5 vs.Bama
Hard to play this. Home field should be the deal maker.
Gknepper woke me up on this one and I owe him a big thanks. I thought this game was @ Clemson. Plus, all of the services showed this at -4 late, though when I called in, I was given -5. So I fortunately passed on this, avoiding a serious ass-kicking. Picked it here, so it still counts as a loss on these message boards.

It was.
Two more easy wins on a very enjoyable Saturday.
5-1 to start the season, also winning both larger plays.

My pleasure Spider and some places just showed this as a Clemson(Death Valley) home game. I enjoyed the Bama thrashing and assume you did as well. Let's pick more winners and nice job with BG - Sorry GAM! -- Greg |

Nice start to the season for everyone it looks like. Gonna keep an eye on the overs with Big Red. Looks like there might be some big numbers put up on both sides of the ball.
Dipping into a fishy line today. Ky +155 @ Louisville
Should be a down year for Louisville and I think Ky could suprise a few. Didnt expect to be getting points even on the road. Feel like either Im correct and Ky is much the best or it's a sucker bet. Either way, taking the 3 points doesnt seem to make much sense.
Also got down early on Tenn -7.5 @ UCLA. I think UCLA will get better (maybe even good) as the year goes along, but theyre in deep against even a 2nd tier SEC squad. |

I have been a Fresno St. - Pat Hill - V on the helmet, we'll play anybody/anywhere supporter for about 10 years. Lots of returning starters including QB Brandstater and getting 4 points looks solid. They whacked GT in the Humanitarian Bowl last year and circled this game.
Tenn/UCLA - I like 1st half line w/UCLA - Neuheisel will have them jacked up beyond belief and Vols will want to pound(and they will) in the 1st half. I think Tenn. wears down Bruins in 2nd half -- Good luck all and I'm keeping a good thought for The Bayou area - Greg |

I got off 2 a great start, zigging and zagging correctly with the accurate thoughts coming from here.
showard and gknepper helped me tremendously, and I hope my thinking made the rest of u $$.
I looked over both NCAA and NFL this week, and really don't care 4 anything.
So--I will follow every1 else with anything that makes sense to me.

Query: How bad will the Big East be this year?
There was a bit of concern in Pgh for the game against BG. BG was believed to possibly be the best team in the MAC and this was shaping up as one of those everything to lose nothing to gain games. Pitt up early 14-0 and maybe should've goten up more when they intercepted and got a short field from it. Then, they pretty much tanked the rest of the way. Could be another disappointing season for Pitt alumnus.
Louisville gets thrashed by Ky and then Rutgers loses to Fresno St. If, as I believe, WVU won't be as good as in recent years, this isn't looking to be a banner year for the Big East.
Side note to Spider: there is belief in Pgh that if Pitt tanks again this year, Wanny will be removed one way or another. We'll see. No question he can recruit good talent but, other than the upset win against WVU last Dec., the team has grossly underperformed on the field. |

Sorry for the redboard, but took a shot with UCLA + 7 1/2 last night. Didn't know that much about UCLA, but figured they would be pumped at home for a new coach. Their QB didn't look very good in the first half, but the second half was a different story.
