Looks like a fun week and hoping to get tix for the Temple/Buffalo clash!
Seriously, I am playing ND + 1 1/2 over Michigan. I really feel they will ride the momentum off the SD State fumble before pulling away late. They were drilled last year by Mich. 33-0 and I know they were embarrassed by everyone. Claussen looked good albeit vs. The Aztecs and I really look for a top effort. Michigan: Have not looked good in 2 home games and I feel they will struggle on the road with the new O. Coach R will be fine once he gets the right people in place but I look for Maze/Blue to struggle this year. Utah and Miami O moved the ball and look for ND to do the same.
If, I mean when ND hits, I will play my Fresno St. Bulldogs light +1 at 10:30. It will be like Woodstock in the Valley but Fresno's pass D scared me against Rutgers. The Knights had receivers open early and often and hopefully Coach Hill made some adjustments. Good luck all - Greg
KANSAS +3.5 @ USF
Don't know how/if the weather will factor into this(my place 45 minutes south of Tampa/St.Pete took a pretty good storm hit in the last week). Just hoping the Jayhawks can continue their progress from last year in a tough road environment(should be very muggy). USF didn't impress me last week, though they should play much better tonight. Just hoping to stay within a fg.
BAYLOR -2.5 vs.Wash.St.
Bears are improving, and this could be a big step home win if they are good enough. Weather could be an even MORE SERIOUS factor here. My daughter/family lives in south Houston and had a mandatory evacuation yesterday in anticipation of a major storm. Negative factor being that I HATE playing teams wearing green uniforms. Bad mojo.
High school notes:
Been watching a lot of HS games locally, since two national weekend packages have happened at UC and the Bungle venue, both featuring my local outfit(of which I am a major booster/supporter.benefactor).
Local team qb CALEB WATKINS is a jr. who recently visited Michigan and is wooed by Ohio State, Mich.St. and virtually everyone. Pinpoint passer who loves to go long and take control either running or passing. Three games into the season, he has 900 yards, 7tds and is 49-73 in attempts and a 193.7 qb rating. Ego problems, but the best young pure thrower that I have ever seen.
FSN showed a local game last night featuring local/national powerhouse Colerain, where I got my first glimple of this 15yo 6'5"205lb.rb Durham kid dragging Princeton HS(a good team) players down the field all night long. I believe he is only a sophomore however what a horse. Maybe file both names away for future NCAA D1 reference.
As I hinted at a week or more ago, it's looking like the Big East might really be weak this year. Rutgers got throttled last night by UNC, seldom a college powerhouse, Pitt struggled to beat Buffalo last week (I know, I was there) after losing the first weekend to Bowling Green. WVU went down pretty big to ECU, although ECU all of a sudden looks like a good team after beating Va Tech and WVU in consecutive weeks. UConn struggled to beat Temple. We won't even talk about Syracuse and Cinci got beat handily by Oklahoma, who I assume is good, but Kansas was one of the best in the Big 12 last year. So Fla might be the best of the Conference, but that might be damning with faint praise.
I'm going with you on Kansas spiderjohn. Originally I figured the long trip and the weather would get to Kansas, but after seeing the results of the first 2 weeks (including Rutgers disgrace last night), I think the Big East is terrible this year and I'm trying to bet against them before the oddsmakers catch up.

Navy over Duke getting 2 1/2.....Duke went 1-11 last year while Navy was 8-4 including wins over Pittsburgh & Notre Dame......Navy returns 8 starters on defense .....to be fair Duke did cover last year when Navy was FAVORED by 14 eventually losing 46-43
Oregon St laying 12 to Hawaii.......Oregon St at home....7 returning starters on offense for the Beavers while Hawaii's offense is in a complete overhaul
